Blue Jackets Fans Still Face One Big Access Issue Next Season

Fans will have multiple streaming options for non-nationally televised Columbus Blue Jackets games in the upcoming 2026-27 season, but some key providers remain on the sidelines.

Columbus Blue Jackets fans will have multiple ways to follow the club’s non-nationally televised games during the 2026-27 NHL season, with Spectrum, Prime Video and Fubo carrying the matchups for in-market subscribers.

DIRECTV and, in Columbus, Breezeline have also been offered similar terms, but the NHL is still talking with both providers and neither has agreed to carry Blue Jackets games.

“The response to Blue Jackets Hockey Network on Prime Video has been great and we are thrilled that Spectrum and Fubo see the value in delivering games to our fans,” said Blue Jackets Sr. Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Cameron Scholvin.

“It’s disappointing that DIRECTV and Breezeline have yet to come on board to provide their customers access as they have in previous seasons. We encourage fans who subscribe to those providers to reach out and let them know they want Blue Jackets hockey.”

Fans who want to watch on Prime Video can subscribe for $19.99 per month or $99 per year, with a 7-day free trial available and no Prime subscription required. The service is available at Amazon.com/bluejackets.

Information on subscribing to Spectrum or Fubo, along with more details on Blue Jackets Hockey Network, is available at BlueJackets.com/TuneIn.

For DIRECTV customers, the company says fans can call (800) 531-5000, available daily from 8:00 a.m. to midnight ET, and press “0” or say “agent” or “cancel” to reach a live representative. Fans can also use live chat through the DIRECTV Support Page by selecting the message icon in the bottom-right corner.

Blue Jackets Showed Promise But One Early Concern Still Lingers

There was plenty to like in the Blue Jackets home win over Pittsburgh, starting with the way they handled possession and dictated much of the night. Columbus also got an encouraging boost from the blue line with lineup shuffling in the mix and a familiar face back in the fold, giving the group a little more balance as it tries to settle in early.

Still, the game also served as a reminder that process and finishing are not always the same thing. The Jackets created looks but had trouble cashing them in, even with Cam Talbot making his team debut in goal, and the next layer of evaluation now shifts to how quickly Columbus can turn that territorial edge into a more reliable scoring touch. Blue Jackets Fans Get An Early Read On Bowness' Game Plan

An early look at Rick Bowness lineup gives Blue Jackets fans a sense of how Columbus plans to handle its matchup with the St. Louis Blues, with several moving parts still to sort through before puck drop. The game is set to be available on The Blue Jackets Hockey Network and 97.1 The Fan, giving fans multiple ways to keep tabs on a roster that is still being shaped by recent injury and availability issues.

The projected group reflects a team trying to work around a few absences while keeping its structure intact, and the scratches and injured reserve list only sharpen the focus on how Bowness wants this one played. For Columbus, the lineup watch matters just as much as the result against St. Louis, because the choices on the sheet can hint at where the coach sees stability and where he still needs answers. Blue Jackets Face Their First Real Test Away From Columbus

The Blue Jackets head to St. Louis on Oct. 10 for their first road game of the season, and it arrives with a little more context than a simple early-night trip. Columbus is still sorting through its own lineup picture, but the matchup at Enterprise Center offers an immediate look at how this group handles a new building against a Blues team that has already spent the opening stretch reshaping parts of its roster and settling into a new look.

Columbus will also be leaning on Jet Greaves in net, which adds another layer to an already useful measuring-stick game. The Blues have made notable changes of their own, with Kyrou now in Washington and Mason McTavish already making an impact after arriving from Anaheim, so the Jackets are walking into a game that could say plenty about where they stand once the schedule starts pulling them away from home ice.
