The Blue Jackets are back on the road Saturday night, heading into St. Louis for a late one at Enterprise Center after a shootout win the night before. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM ET, with Columbus trying to keep its early-season momentum going against a Blues team still searching for consistency.
Jet Greaves is expected to get the start in what would be the first road game of the season for Columbus. The Jackets enter at 2-1-0 with four points, sitting fifth in the Metro and 10th in the East.
St. Louis comes in at 1-2-1 with three points, seventh in the Central and 13th in the West.
There’s also a broadcast wrinkle around the game. The club said it has not yet reached agreements with DirecTV and Breezeline, and it encouraged those customers to contact the providers and “apply pressure….”
St. Louis has gone through some roster shuffling after last season’s disappointment, but a few familiar names remain in place.
Robert Thomas and Colton Parayko are still there, while long-time forward Kyrou is now in Washington. The Blues also brought in Mason McTavish through a trade with Anaheim, and he has started well with two goals while skating on a line with Connor McMichael.
David Jiricek’s brother is also on this team.
The Blues have leaned on structure early, and their penalty kill has reflected that. Their power play, meanwhile, is still looking for answers against teams that aren’t Buffalo.
The numbers tell a pretty clear story about both teams’ first stretch of games. St.
Louis is averaging 2.25 goals per game and allowing 3.25, while Columbus is scoring 3.00 and giving up 3.00. The Blues’ power play is at 10%, compared with 22.2% for the Jackets.
St. Louis has been much better on the penalty kill at 92.9%, while Columbus sits at 72.7.
At five-on-five, the teams are fairly close in shot share. St.
Louis has a 53.04% shot attempt rate, while Columbus is at 50.18%. The Blues have the edge in five-on-five save percentage at .886, though Columbus is at .915.
The Jackets have also been more efficient finishing at five-on-five, with a 9.52% shooting rate to St. Louis’ 6.67%.
McTavish leads St. Louis with two goals, while Connor McMichael leads the club with two assists and four points.
For Columbus, Matthew Knies has two goals and four points, while Charlie Coyle leads the team with three assists. Matthieu Olivier leads the Jackets in penalty minutes with seven, and Brandon Carlo leads St.
Louis with 17.
Columbus’ projected lineup has Matthew Knies with Adam Fantilli and Kent Johnson on the top line, followed by Valeri Nichushkin, Sean Monahan and Dmitri Voronkov. Cole Sillinger is listed with Charlie Coyle and Mattieu Olivier, while Ryan Lomberg, Danton Heinen and Connor Garland make up the fourth line.
The blue line pairs Zach Werenski with Damon Severson, Carson Soucy with Denton Mateychuk, and Emil Andrae with Erik Gudbranson. Jet Greaves is projected in goal, with Cam Talbot backing him up.
St. Louis is expected to roll out Dylan Holloway, Robert Thomas and Jimmy Snuggerud up front, with Connor McMichael, Mason McTavish and Jonatan Berggren on the next line.
Jake Neighbours, Dalibor Dvorsky and Pavel Buchnevich follow, then Ross Johnston, Pius Suter and Zach Dean. On defense, Philip Broberg is paired with Adam Jiricek, Justin Barron with Colton Parayko, and Cam Fowler with Brandon Carlo.
Joel Hofer is projected to start, with Binnington behind him.

Blue Jackets Fans Still Face One Big Access Issue Next Season
The Blue Jackets have lined up a clearer path for fans to watch their non-nationally televised games in 2026-27, with in-market subscribers set to get access through Spectrum, Prime Video and Fubo. It is the sort of distribution update that matters well beyond the fine print, because for plenty of Columbus-area viewers, where a game lands each night can shape how closely they follow the season.
Even so, one familiar access problem remains unsettled. The club says it is still talking with DIRECTV and Breezeline, and those providers have not yet agreed to carry the games, leaving a notable gap in the local viewing picture for next season. Columbus is encouraging fans to contact those companies and push for access, a reminder that the broadcast side of the sport is still very much part of the teams day-to-day fight for attention. Blue Jackets Showed Promise But One Early Concern Still Lingers
There was plenty to like in the Blue Jackets home win over Pittsburgh, starting with the way they handled possession and dictated much of the night. Columbus also got an encouraging boost from the blue line with lineup shuffling in the mix and a familiar face back in the fold, giving the group a little more balance as it tries to settle in early.
Still, the game also served as a reminder that process and finishing are not always the same thing. The Jackets created looks but had trouble cashing them in, even with Cam Talbot making his team debut in goal, and the next layer of evaluation now shifts to how quickly Columbus can turn that territorial edge into a more reliable scoring touch. Blue Jackets Fans Get An Early Read On Bowness' Game Plan
An early look at Rick Bowness lineup gives Blue Jackets fans a sense of how Columbus plans to handle its matchup with the St. Louis Blues, with several moving parts still to sort through before puck drop. The game is set to be available on The Blue Jackets Hockey Network and 97.1 The Fan, giving fans multiple ways to keep tabs on a roster that is still being shaped by recent injury and availability issues.
The projected group reflects a team trying to work around a few absences while keeping its structure intact, and the scratches and injured reserve list only sharpen the focus on how Bowness wants this one played. For Columbus, the lineup watch matters just as much as the result against St. Louis, because the choices on the sheet can hint at where the coach sees stability and where he still needs answers.
