Yamil Talib Sets Bold Goal With Colorado Buffaloes for 2026 Season

New transfer Yamil Talib sets his sights on revitalizing Colorado Buffaloes' defense with ambitious 2026 goals.

Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes have been making waves in the transfer portal, aggressively seeking to bolster their defensive line. Among their new recruits is EDGE rusher Yamil Talib, a transfer from Charlotte and the nephew of former NFL standout Aqib Talib. Yamil recently shared his high expectations for the 2026 season in a video with Darius Sanders.

Talib's ambitions are clear and bold: "I want to compete for the Big 12 Championship," he declared, setting the bar high for his inaugural season in Boulder.

Although Talib wasn't part of the Buffaloes' challenging 3-9 campaign in 2025, where they managed just one Big 12 Conference win, he's optimistic about the team's prospects for 2026. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 240 pounds, Talib initially signed with Oklahoma State in 2024 before moving to Charlotte in 2025. During his time with the 49ers, he made a notable impact with 28 tackles, four tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.

While he may not be the most prolific pass rusher joining the Buffaloes, Talib's skills as a pass rush specialist are expected to play a significant role in Colorado's defensive strategy.
