Colorado's secondary just got a boost, and it's all thanks to a late addition that has fans buzzing. The Buffaloes have signed defensive back Donavon Stephens, who’s making the move from Georgia Military College to join head coach Deion Sanders' squad.
Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing in at 170 pounds, Stephens is bringing plenty of potential to the table with four years of eligibility ahead of him. After redshirting last season, he’s ready to make his mark in Boulder.
Stephens’ journey to Colorado started at Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia-a school that also produced former Buffs standout Travis Hunter. During his senior year in 2024, Stephens was a force on defense, racking up 18 tackles, snagging two interceptions, defending nine passes, and recovering three fumbles. Not just a defensive stalwart, he also contributed on offense with nine receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown, helping his team to an impressive 11-2 record.
With Deion Sanders at the helm and Stephens adding depth to the secondary, Colorado fans have plenty to be excited about as they look forward to the upcoming season.
