Colorado has mapped out a busy 2026-27 women’s tennis slate, and it comes with plenty of miles, plenty of tournament play and a heavy home schedule once the spring arrives.
The Buffaloes’ calendar features 10 fall tournaments, starting with the Milwaukee Classic from Sept. 11-13.
From there, the team’s early-season path splits across a handful of individual events, with late September bringing the All-Americans in Cary, N.C., from Sept. 19-27 and the Bedford Cup in Colorado Springs from Sept. 25-27.
Colorado said most of the roster will be at the Bedford Cup.
October sends CU on the road again, beginning with the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco from Oct. 1-4.
The Buffs then move on to Regionals in Provo, Utah, from Oct. 13-17, before heading to the Colorado Cup in Denver from Oct. 23-25.
The fall closes with a crowded final stretch Nov. 6-8.
Qualified Buffaloes will chase NCAA Individual Championships bids at Sectionals in Los Angeles and the Conference Masters in Rome, Ga., while the rest of the team heads to the SDSU Invite in San Diego. The individual portion of the season then culminates with the NCAA Individual Championships, set for Nov. 17-22 in Athens, Ga.
After a training trip to Newport Beach, Calif., from Jan. 3-10, Colorado turns to dual matches.
The Buffs open that part of the schedule with five straight home matches: Portland State on Jan. 15, Minnesota on Jan.
17, New Mexico on Jan. 22, Michigan State on Jan. 29 and Montana State on Feb.
- All home indoor matches will be played at the Meadows Club.
February brings a pair of road weekends. Colorado faces UNLV on Feb. 13 and a to-be-determined opponent on Feb. 14 in Las Vegas, then travels to Chicago for matches against UIC on Feb. 20 and Northwestern on Feb. 21.
Big 12 play takes over most of the spring, with 13 conference duals on the schedule and seven at home in Boulder. The league opener comes on the road at Kansas State on March 4 and at Oklahoma State on March 6. Colorado then comes home for four in a row, facing Iowa State on March 11, Kansas on March 13, Cincinnati on March 18 and West Virginia on March 20.
The conference grind continues with a trip to UCF on March 25 and Houston on March 27, followed by home matches against Baylor on April 1 and TCU on April 3. The final road swing sends the Buffs to BYU on April 8 and Utah on April 10 before the regular season ends at home against Texas Tech on April 17.
The Big 12 Championships are scheduled for April 21-24 at a site still to be determined, and the NCAA Championships begin April 30 in Athens, Ga.

Deion Sanders Faces Fresh Off-Field Scrutiny At A Tough Time For Colorado
Deion Sanders is once again dealing with off-field noise at a time when the Colorado program could use a clean runway. The latest issue centers on a lawsuit from a graphic designer who alleges unauthorized use of the Prime21 logo on merchandise and promotional materials, adding another layer of distraction around a coach whose arrival in Boulder has kept the Buffs under a constant spotlight.
The broader backdrop makes the timing harder to ignore, with Colorado's performance under Sanders from 2023 through 2025 already under regular scrutiny and every move around the program drawing attention. It also comes on the heels of legal trouble involving his family, including Shilo Sanders filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in October 2023 to seek relief from an $11.89 million debt tied to a 2015 personal injury lawsuit, a reminder that the Sanders name has been attached to more than football lately. Deion Sanders Brings Another Off-Field Distraction To Colorado
The off-field noise around Colorado keeps following Deion Sanders, even as the program tries to settle into its next phase under his watch. This latest wrinkle traces back to a lawsuit from a graphic designer who says the Prime21 logo showed up on merchandise and promotional materials without authorization, adding another layer of legal chatter to a tenure that has never exactly been short on headlines.
It comes on top of a separate financial story involving Shilo Sanders, who filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in October 2023 tied to a personal injury lawsuit from years earlier. For a Colorado program that has already lived through noticeable swings in performance from 2023 through 2025, the challenge is not just managing the roster and results, but keeping the attention on football long enough to build something steadier. Colorado Still Missing A Key Transfer As Fall Camp Frustration Grows
Fall camp was supposed to be the next step for Ezra Christensen at Colorado, a chance for the New Mexico State transfer to get settled into the defensive line rotation and start building toward the season. Instead, he remains on the sideline while an eligibility dispute tied to an injunction against the NCAA drags on, leaving the Buffaloes without one of their key newcomers as practice rolls on.
Christensens attorney said a Boulder judge is working on an order tied to the pending motion, but there is still no resolution. Christensen has pointed to similar recent cases in which players were granted injunctions, and the delay has clearly become a source of frustration as he waits for clarity and tries to keep pace with the rest of Colorados preseason preparations.
