The University of Colorado's women's soccer team is rolling out the red carpet for a season-long celebration, marking 30 years of excellence on the pitch. This milestone isn't just about looking back; it's about embracing the vibrant present and an exciting future.
To kick things off, the team has introduced a special commemorative logo. This emblem will be proudly displayed on player uniforms and featured on merchandise, giving fans a chance to join in the celebration all season long.
Adding to the festivities, Prentup Field will unveil a new Colorado Soccer Wall of Honor. This tribute will spotlight the legendary players who have donned the CU jersey, with special recognition events planned during various home games throughout the 2026 season.
Head Coach Danny Sanchez shared his enthusiasm, saying, "The 30th anniversary of CU Soccer is the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate all the players who laid the foundation that has helped our program become what it is today. We have a rich soccer tradition at Colorado and this anniversary celebration is a great reminder of how special the last three decades have been and also how this program is poised for a great future."
The celebration will include a special reunion weekend, inviting former players back to campus. This gathering will coincide with a match against Denver University on September 11, followed by a recognition event at the first home football game of the season on September 12. More fan engagement opportunities and 30th Anniversary festivities are on the horizon, promising an exciting year at CU Boulder as the university also marks its 150th anniversary.
The 2026 season kicks off on August 12 against Colorado State at Prentup Field, with the Buffs eager to build on last year's impressive NCAA Sweet 16 run. Fans can catch an early glimpse of the team during a spring exhibition match against the Rams on Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at Prentup Field. Admission is free, but with limited seating, fans are encouraged to bring their own portable chairs.
As if the on-field action wasn't enough, stay tuned for announcements about exciting improvements to Prentup Field, promising an even better experience for players and fans alike.
