Colorado women’s golf is headed back to a place it already knows well, opening its fall season Monday, Sept. 14, at the Leadership and Golf Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Wash.
The Buffaloes will play 54 holes over two days in an event co-hosted by Seattle U and Washington. Colorado gets the first two rounds on Monday, then closes things out with the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Sept.

Chambers Bay is a links-style layout that will typically play just under 6,100 yards as a par 72.
For Colorado, the bigger story is familiarity. This is the fourth time the Buffaloes have opened their fall at Chambers Bay, and all five players who competed in last year’s event are back for the trip.
Carolyn Fuller returns after pacing the team in scoring average last season at 73.14. Junior Ellen O'Shaughnessy was next on the list at 74.37, while Maya McVey enters her fourth collegiate season and second with Colorado after posting a 74.71 average in 2025-26, along with a pair of top-5 finishes.
Second-year golfers Teemapat Pateetin and Brenna Higgins also know the venue. Both made their collegiate debuts there a year ago, and Pateetin was Colorado’s lowest 54-hole scorer in the tournament, tying for 20th at 6-over. She went on to appear in all but one event during her freshman season and finished with a 74.63 scoring average.
"We could not be more excited to get the season started," Colorado head coach Madeleine Sheils said. "It's beneficial to return to Chambers Bay with a group who all know the course from last year since you can really benefit from course knowledge here. Tomorrow will be an endurance test, and we feel prepared mentally and physically to take it on."
The Invitational field includes 17 teams, mostly from the western half of the country. Colorado will be paired with Gonzaga, Santa Clara and CSU Long Beach for the opening two rounds, with those groups starting between the fourth and eighth tees at 9 a.m. MT.
