Colorado's recruiting game is stepping up, and it's all about making waves in their own backyard. The Buffs' new recruiting staff is making a strong push with in-state talent, and the results are starting to show.
Take Jackson Roper, a four-star offensive lineman from the class of 2027. He's the top prospect in the state and recently checked out CU during a practice. It's safe to say he left with a positive impression of the Buffs' renewed focus on homegrown talent.
But Roper isn't the only local star catching CU's eye. Prospects like athletes Nico Mavromat and Jordan Mitchell, offensive tackle Phoenix Jenkins, cornerback Cristian Mbamarah, EDGE Troy Mailo, and running back Elijah Cromwell have either visited Boulder or received offers in recent months.
This is a notable shift for the Buffs, who have only had one in-state addition in each of their past two high school signing classes. With these efforts, CU is clearly signaling that they're serious about keeping Colorado's best talent close to home.
