Buffs Set Spring Slate as Colorado Soccer Looks to Build on NCAA Momentum
BOULDER - With the echoes of their 2025 NCAA Tournament run still fresh, Colorado Soccer is gearing up for a pivotal 2026 spring season - and the schedule is now set. Head coach Danny Sanchez has lined up five matchups that will give the Buffaloes a chance to fine-tune their roster, build chemistry, and keep the momentum rolling into the fall.
The Buffs kick things off on February 28 with a trip down to the Academy to face Air Force. It’ll be a road test to open the spring, and an early opportunity to evaluate how some of the new pieces are fitting in. After that, it’s nearly a month before Colorado returns to action - this time at home.
March 29 marks the Buffs’ first of three matches at Prentup Field, when they host in-state rival Colorado State. That one always brings a little extra energy, no matter the time of year. It’s a chance for fans to catch a glimpse of the squad in familiar territory and see how the group is shaping up.
On April 4, Colorado heads north to Greeley for a matchup with Northern Colorado. That contest serves as a tune-up before one of the marquee events of the spring: the Colorado Cup.
Set for April 12, the Colorado Cup returns to Prentup Field for the third straight year. It’s become a staple of the spring calendar - and for good reason.
The Buffs will host a field that includes Air Force, Denver, Northern Colorado, and UCCS, with bragging rights and regional pride on the line. Colorado has dominated this event in recent years, winning it four times in a row and nine times total out of the 13 editions.
Expect the Buffs to come in with a target on their back and a chip on their shoulder.
The spring slate wraps up on April 18 with a home showdown against Nebraska. It’s a strong way to close out the schedule - a Power Five opponent that should give Colorado a solid benchmark heading into the summer.
All home matches at Prentup Field are free to attend, but seating is limited. Fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs and get there early - especially for the Colorado Cup, which is an all-day event and tends to draw a crowd.
