The Colorado Buffaloes have added another name to their recruiting board, and this one comes with plenty of buzz. Class of 2028 wide receiver King Webb announced that Colorado has extended him an offer, giving Deion Sanders’ staff another young pass catcher to track early.

Colorado’s pursuit fits the way this staff has approached recruiting under Sanders: get in early, identify talent before the rest of the country fully catches on, and start building those relationships well before National Signing Day. Webb is the latest example of that approach.
A standout at Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California, Webb is already drawing attention as a receiver with size and upside. He is listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, and his frame alone makes him an intriguing target for college programs.
According to 247Sports, Colorado joins Ole Miss, Oregon State, New Mexico and Sacramento State on Webb’s offer list. That’s a solid group for a prospect who still has plenty of runway left in his high school career.
The Buffaloes’ interest also makes sense based on what Webb showed at the 30th Annual South County Classic in Mission Viejo, California. Per 247Sports, he stood out there by pushing the ball vertically, hauling in difficult catches and showing polished route running.
Those are exactly the kinds of traits Colorado has been chasing at receiver, especially with Brennan Marion now in place as offensive coordinator. The fit is easy to see: a quick offensive system needs receivers who can separate, win downfield and make tough plays when the quarterback needs them most.
Webb also comes from California, a state Sanders and his staff know well. The Golden State keeps producing major talent, and Colorado making Webb one of its early targets says plenty about how highly the program views him.
