There are still a few things Colorado can sharpen. The passing game needs more consistency, and the secondary could be cleaner. But against a lower-level FCS opponent, the expectation is simple: the Buffaloes should be able to handle business without much drama.
The game will air exclusively on ESPN+ as Colorado and Weber State meet in Week 2 of the 2026 college football season. Peter Sousa and Leger Douzable will be on the call from Folsom Field. ESPN+ is the only streaming option, available through the ESPN app.
Colorado enters as a massive favorite, and oddsmakers have it lined at Colorado -34.5 with an over/under of 55.5, according to FanDuel as of Wednesday, Sept. 2.
The prediction here is Colorado 48, Weber State 10. Colorado’s work in the trenches stood out in Week 1, especially up front on offense, and that should matter again here.
Weber State had issues against the run and surrendered 368 yards and more than 500 yards of offense in its loss to Southern Utah, so offensive coordinator Brennan Marion is likely to keep leaning on the ground game.
Kickoff is set for Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m. MT.

The Buffaloes extended a scholarship offer through director of player personnel Darrien Darden-Box, and Pooleys decision gives the staff an early piece to build around as it maps out the position for that recruiting cycle.
Even with Pooley in the fold, the picture around 2027 is still far from settled. Colorados quarterback room for that class remains thin, and the staff is also weighing four-star recruit Andre Adams as part of its broader plan, which suggests the Buffaloes may not be done reshaping the position just yet.
