Colorado men’s basketball will spend a good chunk of its 2026-27 nonconference slate at the CU Events Center, with head coach Tad Boyle announcing Thursday that the Buffaloes have nine home games before Big 12 play begins.
The schedule opens with a first-time matchup against Abilene Christian on Monday, Nov. 2, in Boulder. From there, Colorado’s early stretch gets busy fast: four of its first seven games will be away from home, including a trip to San Diego for the previously announced Bill Walton Classic on Saturday, Nov. 7, against San Diego State at the historical Pechanga Arena.
That road-heavy start also includes a home-and-home finale with Providence. The Buffaloes host the Friars in Boulder and then travel to Providence, R.I., on Saturday, Nov. 14, between home dates with San Diego on Tuesday, Nov. 10, and Portland on Wednesday, Nov. 18.
The Thanksgiving week stop comes next, as Colorado heads to Palm Desert, Calif., for the Acrisure Series for the second straight season. The Buffaloes will face Stanford on Tuesday, Nov. 24, and then meet either Saint Louis or Grand Canyon on Wednesday, Nov. 25.
December is where the home slate really stacks up. Colorado starts the month with UTEP on Tuesday, Dec. 1, then rolls into four straight at home, a stretch that features the hardwood edition of the Rocky Mountain Showdown against Colorado State on Saturday, Dec.
- The Buffaloes also welcome Central Arkansas on Saturday, Dec. 12, and Cal Poly on Wednesday, Dec.
After that homestand, Colorado’s biggest nonconference test comes in the previously announced Indy Classic, where the Buffaloes will face reigning Big Ten Conference Tournament champion Purdue on Saturday, Dec. 19, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The final tuneups before Big 12 play are both at home: North Dakota on Tuesday, Dec. 22, and in-state rival Denver on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
