The Colorado Avalanche have their next alternate look in hand.
The team officially unveiled its 2026-27 “Hometown Remix” jersey on November 2, adding a new design to the mix after last season’s throwback Quebec Nordiques sweaters. Those jerseys had plenty of style, but the results in them never really matched the look, as Colorado finished 2-3-2 while wearing them.
This time, the Avalanche are rolling out a light baby blue jersey that had already started to circulate in leaks around social media before the official reveal. That wave of unofficial images sparked plenty of debate about whether fans were seeing the real thing or just concept art making the rounds early.
Colorado had already announced the six games when it would wear the new jersey, and the club had also hinted that the reveal would come on November 2. Now the wait is over, and the jersey is available.
The design keeps the “C” placed in the middle of the chest, a look the Avalanche have used before. It may not be the boldest or most inventive entry in the NHL’s hometown remix series, especially compared with some of the other concepts around the league, but it does give Colorado a fresh alternate option after last season’s Nordiques nod.
There’s not much time before fans see it on the ice. The Avalanche are set to wear the new jersey tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks, who will also debut their own hometown remix jersey in the same game.

Avalanche Blue Line Depth Suddenly Looks Even More Important
The Avalanches blue line got a little more complicated this week with the recall of defenseman Keaton Middleton from the AHLs Colorado Eagles ahead of a back-to-back set. Middleton is not expected to jump right into the lineup, but the move gives Colorado another body on a defensive group that is already adjusting to Josh Mansons ankle injury and the ripple effect that comes with it.
Noah Juulsen has already stepped into the regular rotation in Mansons absence, and Middleton now gives the club a possible seventh defenseman if the schedule demands it. With Manson expected to miss about two months, Colorados depth on the back end is suddenly more than a convenience, it is becoming a real part of the conversation. [Read more 🡒]
Avalanche Unveil New Look That Fans Are Already Split On
The Avalanches new Hometown Remix jerseys are officially out, and the look is already stirring up plenty of conversation. Built around a Rocky Mountains theme, the design leans into blue, white and silver tones, giving Colorado another alternate sweater with a distinct local feel.
The jerseys will make their on-ice debut Nov. 7 at home against the Detroit Red Wings, and the team plans to wear them six times this season. As with most fresh uniform reveals, the reaction has been mixed, with some fans embracing the change and others clearly needing a little more time to come around. [Read more 🡒]
Avalanche Blue Line Suddenly Has A New Problem To Manage
The Avalanche had to reach down to the Colorado Eagles for some extra blue-line help, recalling Keaton Middleton as the schedule tightens and the wear starts to show. With back-to-back games on deck and Josh Manson out long term after an ankle injury, Colorado is trying to keep its defensive rotation steady without overtaxing the group it has left.
Middleton is not a stranger to the organization, having already seen NHL action with Colorado, and his familiarity with veteran Brent Burns could make the transition a little smoother if he is pressed into duty. For a team trying to stay organized on the back end while one of its more reliable defensemen is sidelined for roughly eight weeks, even a depth move like this can matter a lot more than it might on paper.
