Enter Travis Bazzana, the Cleveland Guardians' top prospect, who’s catching the eye of analysts like Chris Towers. Bazzana might not be on the Opening Day roster, but don’t let that deter you. He's just a step away, with Brayan Rocchio as his main obstacle-a hurdle that many believe he can easily clear.
Bazzana's been turning heads this spring, and if he continues to rake in Triple-A, the Guardians might just call him up sooner than expected. While some predict a May or June debut, an April appearance isn’t out of the question for this former No. 1 overall pick.
His track record speaks volumes. In 2024, fresh from the draft, Bazzana posted an impressive 126 wRC+.

For Bazzana to make the leap to the majors, two things need to happen. First, he must continue his offensive onslaught in Triple-A.
Second, either Rocchio or Gabriel Arias would need to falter, creating an opening in the lineup. Once Bazzana gets the call, expect him to be a fixture in the lineup.
The Guardians won't be quick to bench Rocchio or Arias if they’re delivering offensively. However, the likelihood of both maintaining above-average production simultaneously isn't high, which could pave the way for Bazzana to make his mark early in the season.
