Brayan Rocchio keeps finding the biggest moment in the room.
Tuesday night against the White Sox, his game-winning double gave the Guardians another walk-off finish and pushed him into a spot no Cleveland player has reached since 1987. It was his fourth walk-off hit of the season, tying him for the most in all of baseball, and it also continued a stretch that has made him one of the most reliable late-game bats in the sport.
Luke Potosky summed up the run with a post that laid out just how far Rocchio’s numbers have gone:

That five-walk-off total goes back to last season, and it leads the majors over that span too. So this isn’t just a brief heater. Rocchio has been doing this for more than a full calendar year, and the pattern is getting harder to ignore.
The run production has been just as striking as the dramatic endings. Rocchio has spent most of the season hitting ninth, and he has already driven in more runs than any Cleveland player ever has from that spot in the order.
That matters because the ninth slot is usually where clubs hide their least dangerous bat. Rocchio has turned it into a source of offense.
