Dillon Brooks Calls LeBron James Most Overrated in Blunt Livestream Moment

Dillon Brooks reignites his fiery rivalry with LeBron James by making his boldest statement yet about the NBA legend.

Dillon Brooks Takes Another Shot at LeBron James, Calls Him “Overrated”

Dillon Brooks isn’t backing down from his long-running feud with LeBron James. In fact, he’s doubling down.

During a recent livestream with content creator Rangesh “N3on” Mutama, Brooks was asked to name the most overrated player in the NBA. He paused for a moment, then delivered the kind of answer that’s become his trademark: blunt, controversial, and aimed squarely at one of the game’s greatest.

“I would probably say LeBron right now,” Brooks said. “I feel like he overrated right now, his time is coming to an end.”

That’s a bold claim-especially when it’s aimed at a player who’s still putting up numbers most 21-year-olds would envy. At 39, LeBron James is averaging 21.9 points per game on 50.5% shooting, along with 5.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists.

Those aren’t just solid stats for a player his age-they're top-tier production in any era, from any player. Sure, the volume may be down compared to his peak, but the efficiency and all-around impact are still there.

Brooks, now with the Phoenix Suns, has never been shy about his feelings toward LeBron. Their history goes back to the 2023 NBA Playoffs when Brooks, then with the Memphis Grizzlies, famously called James “old” after a Game 2 win.

That series escalated quickly-especially after Brooks was ejected in Game 3 for hitting LeBron below the belt. The Lakers would go on to win the series, but the bad blood lingered.

Fast forward to this season, and the tension hasn’t cooled. In a December matchup between the Lakers and Suns, things got chippy again.

Brooks and James exchanged physical play throughout the game, and while L.A. built a 20-point lead, Phoenix stormed back late. The Lakers narrowly escaped with a 116-114 win, but the message was clear: Brooks isn’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with LeBron, physically or verbally.

Now, with two more matchups between the Lakers and Suns still on the calendar-Feb. 26 in Phoenix and April 10 in Los Angeles-there’s plenty of opportunity for this rivalry to heat up even more. You can bet those games are already circled on both teams’ schedules.

Say what you want about Dillon Brooks, but he’s consistent. He’s not just stirring the pot-he’s throwing it straight at one of the biggest names in NBA history.

Whether you see it as confidence, gamesmanship, or something else entirely, it’s clear Brooks relishes the role of agitator. And with LeBron still playing at an elite level, it’s a battle that’s far from finished.
