Shane Bieber’s family is settling in with the Blue Jays, and now the Rogers Centre has become part of the celebration.
While the 31-year-old right-hander remains sidelined with an injury, his wife, Kara, marked the couple’s second pregnancy with a Toronto Blue Jays-themed baby shower at the ballpark during a game. Kara shared a video from the event on Instagram on Sunday and kept the message simple: "Blue Jays baby shower," she captioned the post. "The best day, so thankful for these women."
The Bieber family has been in Toronto since last year’s trade deadline, and Shane stayed with the club this past season after choosing to exercise his $16 million player option at the end of last season. There had been talk that the Blue Jays might move him at the most recent trade deadline, but he remained in Toronto.
That fit neatly with the mood of the shower, which leaned all the way into Blue Jays colors and energy. It also came with the team in the middle of a tight battle for the final AL wildcard spot, something Bieber is watching from the sidelines while he waits for the birth of his second child.
The guest list was full of familiar baseball connections. In attendance were the wives of Jameson Taillon, Spencer Arrighetti, Tyler Rogers, Louis Varland, Josh Smith, Joe Mantiply, and Max Scherzer. Also there were Dylan Cease’s longtime girlfriend, Christen Dye, and Ernie Clement’s fiancée, Stefani Brejcha.
Bieber and Kara were married in 2023, and they welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Kav, in 2025.
