The South Bay Lakers are on a scorching hot streak, and their latest victory over the Iowa Wolves only adds fuel to the fire. Riding a 10-game winning streak, the Lakers had their sights set on claiming the top spot in the G League's Western Conference, and they delivered in style.
The game was tightly contested through the first three quarters, with South Bay holding a slim 99-92 lead. But in the fourth quarter, the Lakers turned up the heat, holding Iowa to a mere 14 points and cruising to a 125-106 triumph.
Defensively, South Bay was rock solid, limiting Iowa to just 40.6% shooting from the field and a chilly 27.8% from beyond the arc. On the offensive end, the Lakers were firing on all cylinders, hitting 56.1% of their shots and a sizzling 44.4% from three-point land.
Rookie forward Adou Thiero continued to impress, racking up 20 points on an efficient 7-of-12 shooting, including two of three from downtown. He also contributed five rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block, showcasing his all-around game.
Guard R.J. Davis added 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while center Malik Williams chipped in with a double-double-13 points, 10 rebounds-alongside four assists and two blocks.
Bronny James had a solid performance, scoring 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, with two assists and two blocks in 22 minutes. Although his scoring average has dipped this season, he's been remarkably efficient, shooting 54.6% from the field, 42.1% from three, and a stellar 90.9% from the free-throw line.
With this win, the South Bay Lakers now boast the best record in the G League, a testament to their relentless play and team synergy.
