Juan Thornhill may have just tipped his hand about where he wants to go next.
The former Browns safety posted a TikTok of himself walking out of the tunnel at Arrowhead Stadium, and the message was hard to miss. His caption said, "Imagine walking out to the best fans" and the hashtags pointed straight at the Kansas City Chiefs.
That’s the same team Thornhill called home before Cleveland signed him to a three-year, $21 million deal that never really took off. Kansas City drafted him in the second round in 2019, and he spent three seasons there, appearing in three Super Bowls and winning two of them.
For Browns fans, the move to bring him in was supposed to pay off with the kind of production he had shown in Kansas City. Instead, injuries kept getting in the way, and Cleveland eventually cut ties after two seasons. Thornhill then spent last year with the Steelers and Jaguars before finishing the regular season on Jacksonville’s practice squad.
Maybe the post was just a nostalgic nod to the place where he had the best stretch of his career. That stretch included not only the championship hardware, but also the kind of on-field impact the Browns were hoping to get when they signed him.
Either way, the Browns are long past the point of worrying about it. Thornhill’s 2025 offseason exit came after he didn’t meet expectations in Cleveland, and his recent path through Pittsburgh and Jacksonville suggests the team made the right call.
If the Chiefs are the destination he’s hinting at, there could at least be a fit on paper. Their safety group could use some help. Whether Thornhill can still bring back the version of himself that made him so valuable in Kansas City is another question entirely.
At 30, he’s at a crossroads. The post made his preference pretty clear. Now it’s just a matter of whether the Chiefs feel the same way.
