Browns Stun Fans by Meeting Seventh Wide Receiver Ahead of NFL Draft

Cleveland Browns continue their wide receiver search, hosting Alabama's Germie Bernard for a key pre-draft visit.

The Cleveland Browns are making waves as they gear up for the 2026 NFL Draft, bringing in a total of seven wide receivers for top-30 visits. The latest addition to this lineup is Alabama's Germie Bernard, a standout talent who has showcased his skills across Michigan State, Washington, and Alabama. Bernard joins Washington's Denzel Boston as the second receiver to visit the Browns today.

The Browns are clearly focused on revamping their receiving corps, as evidenced by the impressive list of prospects they've hosted. Alongside Bernard and Boston, the Browns have also welcomed Ohio State's Carnell Tate, USC's Makai Lemon, Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson, Indiana's Omar Cooper Jr., and Louisville's Chris Bell.

What does Germie Bernard bring to the table for the Browns? The senior receiver is coming off an impressive season, racking up 862 yards and seven touchdowns on 64 receptions. This consistency, with back-to-back seasons around 800 receiving yards, is particularly noteworthy given the competitive wide receiver room at Alabama.

At the NFL Combine, Bernard demonstrated his athletic prowess. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 206 pounds, he clocked a 4.48 in the 40-yard dash, leaped 32.5 inches in the vertical jump, and reached 10-foot-5 in the broad jump. Notably, Bernard also excelled in agility drills, posting a 6.71 three-cone and a 4.31 short shuttle.

Bernard's skill set translates well to the NFL as a slot or Z receiver, capable of handling the tough plays over the middle. This is the type of grit the Browns had hoped for from David Bell, who unfortunately had to retire early due to medical issues.

With an open door policy for talent, the Browns are exploring all options to bolster their receiving unit, making this draft season an exciting time for the franchise and its fans.
