In the latest mock draft from NFL Draft expert Todd McShay, the Browns are projected to snag Ohio State's star wide receiver Carnell Tate with the No. 6 pick. This choice has gained traction, and for good reason. Following that, McShay predicts the Browns will select Utah's Caleb Lomu as their new left tackle with the No. 24 pick.
This scenario paints an almost ideal picture for the Browns. Throughout the pre-draft discussions, names like Spencer Fano, Francis Mauigoa, and Monroe Freeling were in the mix.
Mauigoa's stock soared after the NFL Scouting Combine, while concerns about Fano's arm length caused a dip. Freeling, though athletically gifted, is still developing.
With Mauigoa projected to go to Arizona at No. 3 in McShay's mock, the Browns are poised to make a safe bet by picking the top pass-catcher available.
