Browns Could Be Misreading Jerry Jeudys Trade Market

Cleveland's ambitious asking price for Jerry Jeudy could stifle trade opportunities as teams assess his declining performance.

The Cleveland Browns may be one of the NFL teams positioned to make a move at the trade deadline, and Jerry Jeudy sits right at the center of that conversation.

On paper, dealing the wideout makes sense. In reality, Cleveland may be asking for more than the market is willing to pay. Jordan Schultz reported that the Browns want an “early third to fourth” type of pick for Jeudy, though Schultz added that he does not expect the team to get that return even with the league aware for some time that Jeudy is available.

That asking price stands out because Jeudy’s value has already taken a hit. Cleveland has made it clear in every way short of flashing a literal sign that it does not view him as part of the long-term plan, and that reality should weigh heavily on any negotiations.

Jeudy did give the Browns what they hoped for when they brought him in, at least initially. The former first-round pick out of Denver earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2024 after posting 1,229 yards and four touchdowns. But quarterback uncertainty dragged those numbers down to 602 yards and two scores last season.

This year has been even rougher. Jeudy is in what might be the weakest stretch of his career, and he has not meshed with new head coach Todd Monken. Through the season, he has only eight catches for 81 yards, including just two receptions across his first three games.

Cleveland also appears to have already moved on to the next phase. Young tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has emerged, and the Browns used two top-50 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft on rookie receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston. That alone tells you where the organization sees things going.

Concepcion has flashed with the ball in his hands, while Boston has surged to the top of the NFL in yards per catch at 20.6. Boston is currently on pace for 1,122 yards and 10 touchdowns.

That makes the Browns’ succession plan pretty clear, but it may also make a trade tougher to execute. Other teams understand Cleveland is prepared to move on, which weakens the leverage behind the asking price.

There should still be interest. The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are both chasing a Super Bowl and could use more receiver depth to avoid a drop-off. Both could have Jeudy on their radar.

Still, if the Browns hold firm on that price, the most likely outcome is simple: no deal gets done.

Browns Face A Ravens Team That Suddenly Looks Even Tougher

The Browns are preparing for a Ravens team that suddenly feels even more complete than the one they have been chasing in the AFC North. Baltimore has kept its core identity intact while making a coaching change, bringing in Jesse Minter after Mike Macdonald left for the Seahawks, and the early returns have only sharpened the sense that this group has taken another step forward.

On offense, the Ravens have looked improved under coordinator Declan Doyle, with Lamar Jackson continuing to drive the unit and Derrick Henry adding another layer to the ground game. With just one loss and the kind of health that can fuel a long postseason push, Baltimore is shaping up as a challenge Cleveland already knew would be serious, only now it appears even tougher than expected. Shedeur Sanders Just Sparked A New Browns Quarterback Debate

Shedeur Sanders opened the 2025 season as the Browns' backup quarterback behind Deshaun Watson, but the early weeks have already brought a different kind of scrutiny. Watsons strong play in the first few games kept the depth chart intact, even as Sanders continued to wait for a real chance to prove he belongs in the conversation on the field.

Now Sanders has made a notable move off it, hiring agent Adie von Gontard of Young Money APAA Sports after previously going without representation. The timing adds another layer to a quarterback picture that already has attention in Cleveland, even though Sanders has seen only limited playing time and no official trade or roster move has been announced. Jerry Jeudy Trade Buzz Just Put Browns In A Tough Spot

Marvin Harrison Jr.s move from Arizona to Houston for 2027 draft picks has added another layer to the trade conversation around Jerry Jeudy, and it comes at a time when Cleveland has reasons to listen if the right offer surfaces. The comparison between Harrison and Jeudy this season only sharpens the picture, because Jeudy remains the more established receiver in a Browns offense that has had to weigh present production against future flexibility.

For Cleveland, the bigger question is not whether Jeudy has value, but what kind of market a receiver like him can create if teams are willing to pay up. Draft capital remains the most obvious return, though the possibility of a player swap gives the Browns another path if they decide they need immediate help rather than another pick to stash for later.
