Clemson Just Put Three More Stars In The NFL Spotlight

Clemson alumni continue to leave their mark in the NFL as Trevor Lawrence, Tee Higgins, and Dexter Lawrence make Pete Prisco's elite Top 100 list.

Pete Prisco’s latest Top 100 NFL players list put a familiar Clemson stamp on the league.

Three former Tigers landed on the CBS Sports analyst’s rankings, a strong showing for a program that keeps sending high-end talent into the pros. Trevor Lawrence came in at No.

65, Tee Higgins checked in at No. 89, and Dexter Lawrence landed at No. 91.

Trevor Lawrence led the way as the highest-ranked Clemson alum. The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback put together a breakout season, piling up more than 4,000 passing yards, 29 touchdown passes and nine rushing scores while helping Jacksonville win the AFC South. With a new contract in place, Lawrence is back in the spotlight after taking another step forward in his development.

“He finally flashed the star power in 2025 that many expected when he was the first overall pick in 2021,” Prisco wrote. “Lawrence finished fifth in the MVP voting, but didn’t really get going until Week 8 as he learned yet another new offense.”

Higgins earned his spot after another productive year in Cincinnati, even while missing games. He finished with 59 catches for 846 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns, then picked up his first Pro Bowl selection. The Bengals kept him around for four more years, a move that underscores just how valuable he is to their offense.

Dexter Lawrence rounded out the Clemson trio at No. 91.

The Giants defensive tackle has been a steady force, making three straight Pro Bowls from 2022 through 2024 and earning All-Pro honors in both 2022 and 2023. He also became the first Giants player to make three straight Pro Bowls since Landon Collins from 2016 to 2018.

A season-ending elbow injury in 2024 kept him from adding to that resume, but his place among the league’s best remains clear.

Dabo Swinney Just Got Hit With Clemsons Harshest Reality Yet

For a coach who built Clemson into a national power and turned the Tigers into a playoff fixture from 2015 through 2020, the current conversation around Dabo Swinney carries a very different edge. The rsum still matters, with two national titles and a run of six straight College Football Playoff trips, but the landscape around him has changed fast, and Clemsons place in it has become harder to defend.

Since 2021, the Tigers have only broken back into the playoff once, and even that return ended quickly after the ACC Championship Game win in 2024. Add in the disappointment of a 7-6 season in 2025 and the growing unease over how Clemson has handled the NIL and transfer portal era, and the pressure is no longer just about one bad stretch. It is about whether the program that once seemed ahead of the sport can still keep up with it. [Read more 🡒]

Chad Morris Is Putting Clemsons Offense To A Real Test

Chad Morris is back in a familiar place at Clemson, now guiding the offense after his earlier run on the staff helped shape a different era for the Tigers. His return has brought a clear shift in spring practice, with the offensive coordinator leaning into a demanding, high-energy style that is designed to push players and sharpen the unit as it looks to move past last seasons 7-6 finish.

Quarterback Christopher Vizzina has already felt the difference, and the early feedback from the room suggests Morris approach is landing the way Clemson hoped it would. There is a personal side to him too, away from the field and the playbook, since he and his wife own horses, a reminder that the coach driving all that sideline intensity still has interests far from football.
