Clemson checks in at No. 22 overall in EA College Football 27, landing an 83 grade as the latest edition of the game rolls out in early access.
The Tigers’ split on paper is pretty clear. The offense is rated 80 overall, while the defense comes in at 86.
Among ACC teams, only Miami at 88 and Louisville at 84 are ranked ahead of Clemson at initial release. Nationally, Oregon, Ohio State, Indiana, Notre Dame and Texas sit atop the game’s first rankings.
Because the game is still in early access, the roster is not finished yet. The developers say more players will be added later in a title update, so these numbers are only the first pass.
At the top of Clemson’s roster, Sammy Brown and Will Heldt are the only players rated 90 or better. The quarterback room, meanwhile, doesn’t project to be a major factor in the game’s early outlook.
Here’s how the Tigers are rated for now:
Christopher Vizzina is the highest-rated quarterback at 75 overall, followed by Tait Reynolds and Chris Denson at 74. Brock Bradley is at 71, and Trent Pearman sits at 69.
At running back, Gideon Davidson and Jay Haynes are tied at 84 overall. Chris Johnson Jr. is just behind them at 83, with David Eziomume at 79 and Jarvis Green at 78.
The receiver group is led by T.J. Moore at 89 and Bryant Wesco Jr. at 88. Naeem Burroughs is rated 82, Tyler Brown 81, Juju Preston 77, Cole Turner 75, Gordon Sellars III 75 and Connor Salmin 74.
Olsen Patt-Henry headlines the tight ends at 78 overall. Christian Bentancur is at 76, and Logan Brooking is at 73.
Up front, Brayden Jacobs is Clemson’s top offensive lineman at 81. Harris Sewell and Easton Ware are both 76, Collin Sadler and Grant Wise are both 74, Elyjah Thurmon is 73, Carter Scruggs, Leo Delaney and Ian Reed are all 72, Dietrick Pennington, Mason Wade and Chapman Pendergrass are all 71, Braden Wilmes is 69 and Tucker Kattus is 65.
On the defensive line, Will Heldt leads the way at 90 overall. Jahiem Lawson is next at 80, followed by Ari Watford at 75, and London Merritt and Darien Mayo at 74. At defensive tackle, Vic Burley is rated 85, Amare Adams 83, Markus Strong and Caden Story 76, Kam Cody 73 and Champ Thompson 67.
Sammy Brown is the top linebacker at 90 overall. Kobe McCloud is 80, Jeremiah Alexander is 76, C.J. Kubah-Taylor is 71, and Fletcher Cothran and Logan Anderson are both 70.
In the secondary, Ashton Hampton leads the cornerbacks at 86, with Elliot Washington II at 82 and Corian Gipson at 78. Myles Oliver is 75, Donovan Starr 74, Branden Strozier and Misun Kelley 71, and Shavar Young Jr. 70.
Corey Myrick is Clemson’s highest-rated safety at 86 overall. Jerome Carter III is 83, Kylon Griffin 79, Polo Anderson 77, Ronan Hanafin 76, Noah Dixon 71 and Jakarrion Kenan 70.
Among specialists, Nolan Hauser is at 81 overall, Robert Gunn III is 77, and Jack Smith is 68.
