Noelvi Marte delivered the loudest night among the Reds players scattered across winter ball, powering the Gigantes in the Dominican Republic with a four-hit effort in a high-scoring game against the Estrellas.
Marte started in right field and finished with a double, two RBIs and a stolen base. He also added four hits on the night, giving the Gigantes a big spark in a back-and-forth matchup.
Carlos Jorge was in the same lineup for the Gigantes, starting in center field. He went 1-for-3 with a run scored before being pinch hit for later in the game.
Marte has now appeared in six of the seven games the Gigantes have played this month. After not playing winter ball in 2025, despite originally being expected to join, he has settled in quickly this season. Through those six games, he’s batting .346/.379/.423 with two doubles, five runs scored, four RBIs, and three steals in three attempts.
Ruben Ibarra was also busy at the plate in Mexico, where he kept rolling for Hermosillo. The first baseman played as the designated hitter and hit cleanup, then went 3-for-5 with a run scored for the Naranjeros.
Ibarra only joined the Mexican Winter League a week ago, but he’s made an immediate impact. The 2021 fourth-round pick out of San Jose State has hit safely in every game he’s played, with three multi-hit performances already on the ledger. He has scored five runs, doubled, hit three home runs, walked twice, and driven in 11 runs while helping Hermosillo to a 5-1 record since he arrived.

Reds Could Revisit A Familiar Power Bat For A Tricky Reason
Eugenio Surez could be back in the Reds orbit for 2027, even after a down season in 2026 made his next contract a trickier conversation than it once seemed. Cincinnati is weighing whether there is still a fit for the veteran power bat, and the backdrop matters: Surez has long been a familiar name in the organization, but his market value is no longer the same as it was when he was putting together stronger seasons.
The question now is less about nostalgia than about finding the right sort of deal for both sides. The Reds are expected to move past his mutual option, and any reunion would need to be shaped around his recent performance and what clubs believe he can still provide at this stage. From Cincinnatis perspective, the appeal is obvious, but the price and structure will decide whether a second act makes sense. [Read more 🡒]
Nick Lodolo Just Became A Real Reds Offseason Dilemma
Nick Lodolos name is suddenly sitting right in the middle of Cincinnatis offseason planning, and for good reason. The left-hander has already shown he can be a legitimate rotation piece when healthy, and his 2025 rebound gave the Reds a reminder of why he is viewed as more than just a back-end starter. At the same time, his recent injury history and contract status make him the kind of arm other clubs will check on, especially if they believe there is still another level to unlock.
For the Reds, the question is less about what Lodolo can be and more about what makes the most sense for a club trying to sort out its 2027 rotation picture. Trading him could bring back young talent and help address other needs, but keeping him would preserve some stability in a staff that has already dealt with plenty of uncertainty. The answer may end up hinging on whether opposing teams are willing to pay enough to make Cincinnati seriously consider moving on. [Read more 🡒]
