Jermod McCoy Suddenly In Play For Bengals At No 10

After an impressive Pro Day comeback, Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy strengthens his case to be picked 10th overall by the Bengals.

Tuesday marked a significant milestone for Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy, as he made a triumphant return to the field at the Tennessee Pro Day. After tearing his ACL in January 2025, all eyes were on McCoy to see how he would perform. And perform he did, putting up some jaw-dropping numbers that had scouts buzzing.

McCoy showcased his explosive athleticism with a 38-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot-7 broad jump. Not to mention, he blazed through the 40-yard dash in a swift 4.38 seconds. These numbers are a testament to his hard work and determination to bounce back stronger than ever.

Before his injury, McCoy was pegged as a top-five draft prospect, thanks to his standout 2024 season. His coverage skills were top-notch, earning him an impressive 89.6 coverage grade. With 44 tackles and 4 interceptions, McCoy was a force to be reckoned with, often left to handle receivers one-on-one and coming out on top more often than not.

However, McCoy did rack up 8 penalties during the 2024 season, an area he’ll need to refine as he transitions to the next level. But let's be honest, teaching a cornerback to tone down physicality is a much easier task than instilling it in the first place.

Now, imagine McCoy donning the Bengals’ stripes as their first-round pick this year. It’s a tantalizing thought for fans, and one that could bolster their defense significantly.
