With Sunday looming, the wide receiver injury picture is starting to come into focus, and several of the biggest names on the slate are trending in different directions.
A handful of receivers are already cleared. Malik Nabers, Chris Olave, Dontayvion Wicks and Mike Evans have all been taken off the injury report and are good to go.
On the other side, DeVonta Smith, Stefon Diggs and Quentin Johnston have already been ruled out for Week 5.
That leaves a long list of questionable receivers, and the most notable situations are the ones involving Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase.
Jefferson missed practice entirely last week before being ruled out with his ankle injury, but this time he put together three limited sessions and landed on the questionable list. The week of work suggests he’s getting closer, and Jefferson sounded upbeat when he spoke to reporters.
“It feels good now. Hopefully, Sunday, being able to rock and roll,” Jefferson said, per Will Ragatz of Bring Me The News.
The Vikings could still decide to be cautious. They’re 4-0, and they have a bye in Week 6, so keeping Jefferson out another week would not be a surprise.
Chase is also trending the right way as he moves through the concussion protocol. He opened the week by sitting out Wednesday, then was limited Thursday before finishing with a full practice Friday.
He still carries the questionable tag, but the final hurdle is clear: approval from an independent neurologist. That step appears likely to happen Saturday, and while nothing is official yet, the expectation is that Chase plays.
Tee Higgins followed a similar path for Cincinnati. He missed Wednesday and Thursday with groin and neck issues, then closed the week with a full practice.
Zac Taylor wouldn’t commit to him being active despite the questionable designation, but that Friday session points in a favorable direction. Higgins is expected to suit up.
Another receiver trending toward playing is Zay Flowers, though his situation is a little different. He has dealt with a hamstring problem for weeks, but now it’s a foot issue that has him on the report.
Flowers was limited all three days and is questionable, though ESPN’s Jamison Hensley said he is “expected to play” in Week 5. If he isn’t removed from the report Saturday, his status could stretch into Sunday, and in that case the final answer might not come until 90 minutes before the 8:20 p.m.
ET kickoff.
Jordan Addison is also questionable after being added to the report this week with a hamstring injury. He sat out Wednesday, then returned for two limited practices, which puts him on a better track heading into Sunday.
Like Jefferson, the Vikings’ 4-0 start and upcoming bye could factor into the decision. Right now, Addison looks like a coin flip.
Terry McLaurin remains in the same uncertain range. He’s questionable again because of the hamstring issue that kept him out in Week 4.
He opened the week with two missed practices before logging a limited session Friday, and Dan Quinn said McLaurin is going in the right direction. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports he will “most likely” be a game-time decision, but the Friday uptick gives him a better than 50/50 shot to play.
DJ Moore’s situation is less encouraging. He missed the first two practices of the week after reaggravating his shoulder injury last week and exiting early.
Moore does not necessarily need to practice in order to play, but a limited session Saturday would be a welcome sign. He is likely headed for questionable, and because the injury has already been reaggravated, the Bills could decide to hold him out even if he could go at less than full strength.
The final report Saturday should tell the story.
Ladd McConkey is in a tougher spot. He did not practice at all this week because of a foot injury and was labeled questionable anyway.
That marks a step back from last week, when he at least got in two limited practices before playing. Based on this week’s workload, McConkey looks more likely to sit than suit up.
CeeDee Lamb’s outlook is much calmer after he left the Cowboys’ embarrassing Week 5 loss to the Buccaneers with a quadriceps injury. The good news is that it appears to be only a bruise, and the expectation is that he’ll be ready for Week 6 after Dallas’ mini bye. As Ian Rapoport reported, “My understanding is that it is a quad bruise,” and “Do not expect this to be a long-term injury.”
Finally, Carnell Tate is dealing with a back issue that landed him on the report as a midweek addition after a strong Week 4. The Titans receiver was limited Thursday and Friday and is questionable, but Robert Saleh told reporters Tate is only dealing with tightness and should be good to go.

Bengals Have A Personal Mike Ditka Connection Fans May Not Know
Mike Ditkas death stirred memories around the league this week, and for Bengals fans, the reaction carried a personal note through a current player with a strong feel for the old-school game. Ditka, a Hall of Fame tight end, coach and broadcaster, left a towering legacy as one of footballs most recognizable figures, from his playing days to the 1985 Bears team that became part of NFL lore.
The Bengals connection surfaced through Ted Karras, who remembered Ditka after hearing the news. It was the kind of reminder that the NFLs past is never all that far away, especially when a player whose influence stretched across generations still resonates with someone on a current Cincinnati roster. Nico Collins Carries New Week 5 Pressure For Texans Fans
With the first bye week arriving, fantasy managers are already sorting through replacement options and trying to squeeze value out of every matchup. The lineup advice for this slate leans on recent usage, injury updates and game script, with players like Jameis Winston and Kyle Monangai getting attention because their roles and opponents line up well for Week 5 decisions.
For Cincinnati fans, the most relevant nugget sits on the other side of that DFS conversation, where Brown is drawing notice as a running back play with a favorable setup against Miami. The Dolphins have been a soft spot for backs all season, and the case for Brown rests on volume, scoring chances and the kind of offensive environment that can turn a steady workload into a big fantasy day. The only real question is how aggressive managers want to get in a spot that looks inviting, but still leaves room for one more surprise. [Read more 🡒]
Ja'Marr Chase Situation Just Added To Bengals' Miami Concern
The Bengals are already dealing with their share of injury concerns as they prepare for Miami, and Ja'Marr Chases status only adds another layer of uncertainty to the week. Zac Taylor acknowledged the challenges that come with that kind of roster strain while still pointing to the groups ability to keep moving forward, but there is no getting around how important Chase is to Cincinnatis offense.
His availability now hangs over a matchup the Bengals would prefer to approach at full strength, especially with the Dolphins looming on the schedule. Chase is listed as questionable, and with the offense already trying to navigate the usual late-week injury calculus, Cincinnati will be watching closely to see whether its top wideout can answer the bell.
