Ja'Marr Chase Gave Bengals Fans A Telling Look At Joe Burrow After Losses

Ja'Marr Chase offers a rare glimpse into Joe Burrow's mindset after losses as the Bengals prepare to face the formidable Jaguars on their quest for playoff contention.

Ja’Marr Chase didn’t spend much time painting the picture of Joe Burrow as a different person after a loss. The Bengals receiver said the quarterback’s approach stays mostly the same once he’s back in the building.

“Pretty much the same when he comes back in (to the building the following week). I think the biggest difference is after the game,” Chase said about Burrow at the podium.

That came as Cincinnati shifts straight into Jaguars prep after its Week 3 loss to Pittsburgh. The Bengals are trying to reset quickly, and Chase said both he and Burrow keep their heads in the right place when things go sideways.

The challenge ahead is a Jacksonville team sitting in control of the AFC South and looking to make real playoff noise for the first time in Trevor Lawrence’s career.

Chase also pointed to the Jaguars’ secondary, noting how much continuity those defenders have built.

“They've been having the same players since last year too. Those guys are just getting years under their belt, so they probably learned a little more,” Chase said about the Jacksonville secondary before touching on how the new-look receiver depth is growing this week.

“I can't really say on that because I'm not in that position. But from the looks of it, I would say those guys are handling it really well, especially Colbie (Young) making adjustments.

He came in right away and knew what he was doing. So same with Dohnte (Meyers).

Dohnte has been coming in off the rip and been picking up other people's reps like we practice it, so that's a good sign. And then we added Mitch (Tinsley) back into the collection because he's already been here, already knows a little bit of offense, so it's a perfect fit.”

There was at least one bright spot in the loss for Chase. He went over 7,000 career receiving yards in the game, and he learned about it only after the fact.

“I actually found out while I was shooting my podcast, and that was the first time that I knew about it. But I appreciate that, so hopefully I get more,” Chase said.

He is now 79 yards from moving past Isaac Curtis for third on the Bengals’ all-time receiving list, and Chad Johnson’s 10,783 yards is the next major target in his path.

That next chance to add to the total comes soon enough.

Joe Burrow Clutch Debate Just Took A Turn Bengals Fans Needed

Joe Burrows latest showing against Pittsburgh fit the familiar Bengals frustration chart: plenty of production, a strong statistical line, and still a loss after a late fumble swung the finish. In the aftermath, one of the numbers making the rounds was especially harsh, painting Burrow as 1-34 when trailing in the final eight minutes, a stat that quickly took on a life of its own among fans looking for answers about how he closes games.

Ryan Fitzpatrick pushed back on that framing, breaking down Burrows late-game drives and finding a very different picture. His review showed Burrow successfully tied or took the lead in 18 of 27 such chances, a reminder that the biggest clutch debate around Cincinnatis quarterback may be more complicated than a single ugly record suggests, even if the result in Pittsburgh left the conversation hanging. Bengals Head Into Jaguars Week With Two Major Lineup Questions

Cincinnati kept working through its prep for Jacksonville with the injury report still shaping the week. Dalton Risner is expected to miss the game because of a knee injury, while DJ Turner was limited with a hamstring issue, leaving the Bengals to sort through a couple of important lineup questions as they move toward Sunday.

Joe Burrow and Zac Taylor both weighed in on where the team stands and how it is approaching the matchup, underscoring that this is the kind of week when practice availability matters almost as much as the game plan. The Bengals still have time to settle things, but with a key blocker sidelined and a defensive back managing a soft-tissue injury, the final look of the roster remains something to watch. Bengals May Be Leaving Offensive Upside On The Table

Erick All Jr. has become one of the more intriguing pieces in the Bengals offense, even if the snap counts have not fully reflected it yet. Cincinnati has leaned on Drew Sample as the steadier, more familiar tight end option, but All brings a different kind of threat as a more athletic and versatile player, the sort who can change how defenses have to line up and react.

That matters because the Bengals have been searching for more efficiency in the parts of the offense where deception should matter most, especially in play-action. The question hanging over the position is whether Cincinnati is leaving some upside on the table by not getting All more involved, and whether a bigger role for him could help unlock a passing game that still feels like it has more room to grow.
