The Cincinnati Bengals may not have a treasure trove of picks in the early rounds of this year's draft, but they do hold their original selections, setting them up for some strategic choices. With picks coming early in each of the first three rounds, the Bengals have the opportunity to snag some top-tier talent.
In a recent three-round mock draft by ESPN analysts Mel Kiper, Field Yates, and Matt Miller, the Bengals are projected to make some intriguing moves across three different positions.
Bengals' Mock Draft Highlights: CB, WR, DT
Starting with the 10th overall pick, Matt Miller envisions the Bengals selecting Mansoor Delane, a standout cornerback from LSU. While DJ Turner II and Dax Hill have shown promise, Delane could elevate the Bengals’ secondary to new heights. This move aligns with Cincinnati's pressing need for defensive reinforcements, particularly on the edge, at cornerback, linebacker, or safety.
Things take an interesting turn with Mel Kiper's projection at the 41st overall pick. He suggests the Bengals might opt for Georgia's dynamic 5-foot-9 wide receiver, Zachariah Branch. Adding Branch to a receiving corps that already features Joe Burrow's go-to targets, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, could make for an explosive offensive unit.
Rounding out the trio, Field Yates predicts the Bengals will pick up Iowa State defensive tackle Domonique Orange in the third round. Known affectionately as "Big Citrus," Orange would bring a unique blend of size and personality to the Bengals' defensive line.
With a potential top cornerback at 10th, a playmaking wide receiver at 41st, and the charismatic "Big Citrus" at 72nd, the Bengals' draft strategy, as outlined by ESPN, is both bold and full of potential. This lineup could address key needs while adding depth and excitement to the roster.
