National Tight End Day gave the NFL a little bit of everything in Week 7: a pair of multi-touchdown outliers, a few steady star turns, and more than a couple of letdowns from names fans expected to see on the scoreboard.
Only two tight ends scored twice on Sunday, and neither was the obvious headliner. That alone made the holiday feel a little off-script.
Mason Taylor was one of the biggest bright spots. The Jets lost on the field, but Taylor helped keep the offense moving with five catches for 62 yards and two touchdowns. After managing only one touchdown during his rookie season, he used the holiday to make a clear case for a bigger role, especially after questions about his place with Kenyon Sadiq in the mix.
Davis Allen also made the most of limited volume. The Rams tight end finished with just four receptions for 20 yards against the Raiders, but he turned two of them into touchdowns. Entering the day with only six catches on the season, Allen delivered a useful jolt in a bounce-back win for a Rams team that needed it.
Trey McBride did what Trey McBride does. The Cardinals couldn’t keep pace with the Broncos, but he was still the most productive tight end by yardage in Week 7, piling up 10 catches for 111 yards and a touchdown.
George Kittle, meanwhile, came through when the 49ers needed a pass-catcher to step forward with Mike Evans out. He posted eight catches for 88 yards, his highest receiving total since Dec. 22, 2025.
Greg Dulcich also cashed in on the day. The Dolphins got their first win with a big assist from the former Broncos tight end, who put together five catches for 86 yards against the Jets, falling just one yard short of his career high.
Not every tight end enjoyed the holiday.
Sam LaPorta had a rough day in a Lions win over the Packers, finishing with only one catch for 18 yards after sending what sounded like a pretty direct message to Detroit that he is ready to leave unless the contract offer improves. Even so, the Lions got big outings from Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jahmyr Gibbs and still came away with the victory.
Juwan Johnson’s trip to Paris didn’t go the way he wanted either. In a Saints loss to the Steelers, he managed just one catch for seven yards and finished with one fewer reception than tight end teammate Noah Fant.
Isaiah Likely, despite being a strong fit for the Giants since reuniting with John Harbaugh, was hardly involved in Sunday’s win over the Texans. While Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields and Cam Skattebo all produced big performances, Likely had only two catches for 12 yards, his least productive game of the season.
Kenyon Sadiq was also left waiting for his moment. With the Jets facing a chance to move the ball against the Dolphins, Geno Smith targeted him only once, and the result was a six-yard catch.
Mike Gesicki was part of the Bengals’ second-half surge, but his box score still looked oddly thin. Cincinnati erased a 13-0 deficit and rolled to a 35-13 win over the Ravens after scoring 35 points in the final two quarters, and Gesicki found the end zone as one of the team’s five touchdowns. Still, he finished with just that one catch on the afternoon.

Bengals Have One Awkward Roster Decision Before Ravens Showdown
The Bengals head into their showdown with the Ravens in unusually good shape on the injury front, with no one carrying an injury designation into game day. Baltimore, meanwhile, will again be without Lamar Jackson, who is set to miss a third straight game with an ankle sprain, leaving Tyler Huntley to handle the quarterback duties in a matchup that still carries plenty of AFC North weight.
That leaves Cincinnati with one of the quieter but still important pregame questions: who gets left out of the active roster picture. A few of the newer and deeper reserves are in the mix as possible scratches, with recent signee Jack Kiser among the names worth watching as the Bengals sort through the final cutdown for this one. Backup offensive line depth is also part of the equation, and with the roster otherwise healthy, those decisions are where the only real pregame suspense seems to be. [Read more 🡒]
Tee Higgins Gives Bengals A Needed Boost Entering Ravens Showdown
Tee Higgins gave the Bengals exactly the sort of midseason lift they needed last week, pushing through an adductor injury and taking the field in the win over the Miami Dolphins. He handled 69.2 percent of the snaps in that game, and his presence mattered for an offense that can look very different when one of its top targets is unavailable.
Heading into Week 7 against Baltimore, Higgins is no longer listed on the injury report and has been a full participant in practice. For Cincinnati, that sets up a healthier receiving corps at an important point in the schedule, with Higgins already up to 27 catches for 423 yards and a touchdown this season as the Bengals prepare for a rivalry game that rarely comes without pressure. Bengals Get A Huge Week 7 Opportunity They Cannot Waste
The Bengals head into Week 7 coming off their bye with a chance to reset their season in one of the AFC Norths most familiar pressure points. A trip to Baltimore on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on CBS is the kind of divisional test that can quickly change the mood around a team, especially one that needed the extra week to regroup and get ready for a stretch that can shape the rest of the fall.
Cincinnati also arrives with some encouraging health news, which matters when the margins in a division game are usually slim. The Ravens are waiting, the stage is set, and the Bengals have an opportunity they can ill afford to let slip if they want to leave October with real momentum. [Read more 🡒]
