The Bengals have spent the offseason reshaping their roster with one clear goal in mind: putting together a team capable of winning the Super Bowl. So far in the preseason, they’ve looked solid enough to keep that idea alive.
But as always in Cincinnati, the conversation comes back to Joe Burrow and the line in front of him. Protecting the quarterback remains the priority, and after cutting ties with Cody Ford, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Bengals looked for another offensive lineman before the season gets rolling.
That’s where Cam Robinson comes in.
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox recently named Cincinnati as one of the top landing spots for the veteran offensive tackle in a potential deal before the season. Knox pointed to Robinson’s experience, his age, and the possibility that he could be more useful as a depth option than as an expected starter.
"Due to his performance last season, Robinson can likely be had at a fraction of his 2025 salary. He may also be more valuable as a depth piece than an expected starter," Knox wrote.
"That said, Robinson does have 114 starts on his resume and is still only 30 years old. He'd be a terrific insurance option for a playoff hopeful with questionable depth at left tackle.
"The Commanders may believe that Brandon Coleman can replace Tunsil, but adding Robinson couldn't hurt. Given the importance of protecting Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals should also consider Robinson as a Plan B behind Orlando Brown Jr."
Robinson has built a reputation as a dependable veteran up front. He’s not the same player who once looked like a top-end starter, but he still brings enough experience to matter, especially if a team needs help because of injury or shaky play from a starter.
That’s the appeal for Cincinnati. Burrow has dealt with protection issues for years, and those problems have already led to injuries for the franchise quarterback.
Robinson wouldn’t walk in and solve everything. He’s not being framed as a savior or a first-team All-Pro at this stage of his career. But if the Bengals want another steady option who can fill in when needed, he makes a lot of sense.
