Joe Flacco, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins Headed to Pro Bowl as Bengals Send Three to AFC Roster
The Bengals are sending a trio to the Pro Bowl Games this year, and it's a group that tells the story of both veteran resurgence and rising star power.
Quarterback Joe Flacco, wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins will all represent Cincinnati in the AFC lineup when the Pro Bowl kicks off on February 3. For Flacco and Higgins, this marks the first Pro Bowl nod of their careers. For Chase, it’s another chapter in what’s quickly becoming one of the league’s most impressive early resumes.
Let’s start with Flacco, who didn’t even take his first snap for the Bengals until Week 6. But once he got under center, the veteran made it clear he still had plenty left in the tank.
Over 13 games (including 10 starts), Flacco threw for 2,479 yards and 15 touchdowns. He finished the season tied for second in the NFL in completions and third in passing touchdowns - a remarkable feat for a quarterback who wasn’t even in the Bengals’ plans to start the year.
Now, he’s capping off that comeback with his first-ever Pro Bowl selection.
Tee Higgins also gets the Pro Bowl call for the first time, and he earned it with a breakout campaign. Higgins hauled in 59 receptions for 849 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns.
He found the end zone in four straight games from Weeks 7 through 11, showing off his ability to be a consistent red-zone weapon. Originally listed as a second alternate, Higgins got the official invite after Ravens rookie Zay Flowers bowed out.
Then there’s Ja’Marr Chase - the headliner. Chase wrapped up the season with 1,412 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, continuing to prove he’s one of the NFL’s elite wideouts.
This is his fifth Pro Bowl selection and his second consecutive First-Team All-Pro honor. He’s not just putting up numbers - he’s putting together a legacy.
With both Chase and Higgins making the Pro Bowl, it’s the first time since 2007 that the Bengals have sent two receivers in the same year. The last duo to do it?
Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh - a pairing that defined an era of Bengals football.
Chase and Higgins are now writing their own version of that story.
The Pro Bowl Games kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on February 3, airing live on ESPN. And with three Bengals in the mix, fans in Cincinnati will have plenty to cheer for.
