Ugly Details Emerge On OSU-USC Postgame Incident

A heated confrontation involving Ohio State's Ross Bjork and USC's Lincoln Riley has sparked fan outrage, raising questions about the athletic director's conduct and decision-making.

Ohio State’s 30-18 loss to USC was bad enough on its own. The Buckeyes dropped their second game of the season Saturday night, fell from No. 2 to No. 11 in the polls, and turned in what was easily their roughest performance of the year. The defense and special teams were a mess, and a team that was expected to win even with a backup quarterback starting never found its footing.

Then came the postgame scene that had fans talking for all the wrong reasons.

Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork was involved in a very public incident with Lincoln Riley that was caught on video, and the reaction online was immediate. The details are still unclear, but the optics were ugly enough to set off a wave of criticism from Buckeye fans who wanted action taken against Bjork.

“Ross Bjork made Ohio State looks like sore losers... and disrespectful punks.”

“This angle alone shows Bjork should be suspended indefinitely https://t.co/6C1eCnR0sQ”

What actually happened in the exchange remains murky. Maurice Clarett stepped in as a peacemaker, and Riley was seen cursing at Bjork while walking off the field.

That part of it was not a good look either. But without a clearer account of what sparked the confrontation, there’s still a lot of guesswork swirling around the moment.

Even so, Bjork put himself in a spot he never should have been in as the university’s athletic director. That role comes with a higher standard, and this episode did him no favors.

The loss only sharpened the frustration. Ohio State should have been able to handle USC, and if Ryan Day’s team had taken care of business, this whole incident likely never would have become a talking point. Instead, the Buckeyes left the night with a lopsided defeat and a sideline-to-postgame mess that fans couldn’t ignore.

Bjork’s tenure in Columbus has already drawn mixed reviews. He was brought in to help Ohio State navigate the NIL era, and while he has helped the football program get more money to spend on the roster, that support only really came in the last year. Before that, he reportedly refused to help Day spend more money on recruits.

He has also made other decisions that have not gone over well with fans, including transforming Ohio Stadium and ending a beloved gameday tradition. Moving the band to the North section of the stadium to make room for luxury boxes in the South stands also left plenty of people unhappy. On top of that, some fans remain skeptical about his decision to hire Jake Diebler, especially with Dusty May also in the mix.

Now this latest incident has only added fuel to the fire. For fans already uneasy about Bjork, it was another reason to question him.

For those who were still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, it was another damaging moment. Bjork was run out of both Ole Miss and Texas A&M, and this could become another mistake that follows him if more details come out.

Riley may have more to say later this week. Until then, Ohio State is left with a bad loss, a bad scene, and a night Buckeye fans would rather erase.

Bearcats Win Exposed One Early Issue Fans Cant Ignore

Cincinnatis 79-53 win over American still had the feel of a game the Bearcats had to work through before they could really take control. The early stretch was messy, and an injury to Jayden Hastings in the opening minutes forced Cincinnati to adjust on the fly while the offense sputtered through much of the first half. Even so, the Bearcats steadied themselves and eventually leaned on their size and energy to separate from a team they had now beaten twice in two meetings.

The second half was where the difference showed up most clearly, with Cincinnati winning the rebounding battle by a wide margin and turning that edge into a comfortable finish. Tejada led the way with 13 points and five rebounds, while MJ Collins provided a major lift after halftime as the Bearcats pulled away. For a team that has plenty to like about the final score, the early injury and the uneven start were a reminder that not everything came easy. [Read more 🡒]

Bearcats Exposed A Brutal Problem Against Utah But Showed Some Fight

Halloween at Nippert Stadium turned into a harsh reminder of how quickly a game can get away from Cincinnati against elite competition. The Bearcats fell 49-25 to No. 6 Utah after the Utes seized control early, punishing mistakes and turning the night into a long chase for the home team.

Even so, Cincinnati did not fold. Cole Tabb gave the offense a needed spark on the ground, and Jacob Finley provided one of the loudest moments of the night with a pick-six that helped the Bearcats edge Utah in the second half. The bigger issue was still impossible to miss, though, as red zone trips and turnovers kept undercutting any chance to make the scoreline more respectable. [Read more 🡒]

Bearcats Suddenly Have A Huge Houston Question In The Trenches

After a tough loss to No. 3 Utah, Cincinnati is trying to steady itself in the trenches as it turns its attention to Houston. The Bearcats are dealing with uncertainty on both sides of the line, with nose tackle Josh Hough and center Taran Tyo working their way back as the team tries to keep its season pointed toward bowl eligibility.

Grant Edgington handled the fill-in duties at center well against Utah, but Cincinnati still wants Tyo back in the middle to restore the leadership and communication that position demands. At 5-3, the Bearcats know the bigger goals in the Big 12 are out of reach, so the focus now is on getting healthy, tightening up the line play and finishing strong enough to secure a postseason berth.
