Cincinnati Bearcats Shake Up Coaching Staff with Intriguing New Additions

Cincinnati football head coach Scott Satterfield strategically revamps his coaching staff with new hires and role adjustments, aiming to enhance team dynamics for the upcoming season.

CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Bearcats have unveiled their 2026 football coaching lineup, a blend of fresh faces and familiar names, under the guidance of head coach Scott Satterfield. This revamped staff includes four new hires, alongside some strategic role adjustments for returning members.

Joining the Bearcats are Larry Murphy to coach cornerbacks, Mike Beaudry as assistant safeties coach, Petey Warrick stepping in as assistant wide receivers coach, and James Vollono taking on the role of assistant special teams coach. Meanwhile, Robert Nunn shifts his focus to coaching edge rushers, and Adam Braithwaite will now oversee the outside linebackers.

Satterfield expressed his enthusiasm about the new team, stating, “We have such an outstanding range of people on both sides of the ball with diverse experiences at the college and professional levels. I have enjoyed seeing them bond with our players as we head into spring ball.”

Nunn is no stranger to the Bearcats, entering his fourth season with the team. Last year, he served as Senior Advisor to the Head Coach, and he brings a wealth of NFL experience, including a Super Bowl win with the New York Giants. Braithwaite, who joined Cincinnati last fall, made an immediate impact by coaching former walk-on Antwan Peek Jr. to become a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist.

The support staff sees the return of David Flores (assistant offensive line), Curtis Fitch (assistant quarterbacks/tight ends), Josh Runda (assistant linebackers), and Theo Lemon (assistant defensive line), all continuing to bolster the team's depth.

Mike Beaudry arrives from Army, where he worked as a defensive analyst under new defensive coordinator Nate Woody. His versatile coaching journey includes stints as an offensive analyst at West Florida and quarterbacks coach at Benedict College. Beaudry’s playing days were highlighted by leading West Florida to a Division II national title in 2017.

Larry Murphy, tasked with coaching the cornerbacks, reunites with safeties coach David Rowe after their time together at Rutgers. Murphy's coaching resume includes a successful tenure at Western Carolina and an earlier role as a grad assistant at Valdosta State.

Petey Warrick brings his expertise from UTSA, where he was an offensive assistant. His playing career saw him as a four-year letterwinner at Texas, starting six games as a senior.

James Vollono joins as the assistant special teams coach, bringing with him a history of success, including Sun Belt titles at Troy and coaching Lou Groza Award winners. His diverse experience spans stints at several collegiate programs and a role with the NFL Think Tank, the 33rd Team.
