White Sox Set for Thrilling Doubleheader in Arizona Tonight

White Sox face off against the Diamondbacks and Padres in a pivotal Cactus League doubleheader, showcasing a mix of seasoned players and ambitious prospects.

The Good Guys are gearing up for a late-night showdown in the desert, splitting their squad for a Cactus League doubleheader in Arizona. First up, they face the Diamondbacks at 8:05 p.m.

CST, followed by a clash with the Padres at 8:10 p.m. CST.

It's a doubleheader that promises to keep fans entertained well into the night.

Davis Martin takes the mound against Arizona, and he's been turning heads this spring. With a 2-1 record, a tidy 3.00 ERA, and 10 strikeouts, Martin's been showing he means business.

His last outing on March 13 was a gem-four scoreless innings, just one hit allowed, and four strikeouts. If he can carry this form into the regular season, the Good Guys will be in great shape with him locked into the starting rotation.

Facing off against Martin is an old friend, Michael Soroka. Unfortunately for Soroka, his spring hasn't been as smooth.

With a 9.82 ERA and 2.73 WHIP over four innings, control issues continue to haunt him. He showed some promise playing for Team Canada in the WBC, posting a 1-1 record with a 4.76 ERA over 5 2/3 innings.

Tonight, he'll be looking to find his groove, but the Good Guys' bats might have other plans.

The South Side lineup is a mix of regulars, prospects, and a few surprises. Andrew Benintendi and Colson Montgomery lead off, with Austin Hays bringing his hot bat to the three-spot. Munetaka Murakami adds intrigue in the cleanup position, followed by Chase Meidroth, Lenyn Sosa, Jarred Kelenic, and Luisangel Acuña.

For those wanting to catch the action, it's radio or nothing. Tune in to ESPN 1000 for the call with Len and DJ.

Just five minutes later, the second squad takes on San Diego.

Jonathan Cannon gets the start, despite being optioned to Charlotte on March 17. With Spring Training's flexible rules, his performance tonight could be pivotal, especially with Mike Vasil sidelined by injury. A strong showing here could put Cannon back in the mix.

The Padres will counter with Michael King, who's had a rough spring, holding a 0-2 record, 9.95 ERA, and 1.74 WHIP across four starts. But don't let those numbers fool you-King has the tools to dominate.

Last season, he went 5-3 with a 3.44 ERA in 15 starts. The key question is whether he can stay healthy and consistent, having battled injuries throughout 2025.

The lineup for this game is filled with players eager to make their mark. Outside of Korey Lee, Miguel Vargas, and probably Curtis Mead, roster spots are up for grabs.

It's a "prove it or pack it" scenario, with every at-bat carrying weight. Whether they're vying for a last-minute bench spot or aiming to make a strong impression for future call-ups, these players know the importance of seizing the moment.
