Roch Cholowsky’s absence stretched into another day Thursday, but the White Sox prospect is still expected to avoid a trip to the injured list.
FutureSox’s Jeff Cohen said before Winston-Salem’s game that a sore wrist had sidelined Cholowsky for four straight games. The wrist issue traces back to the ninth inning of the Dash’s 9-5 loss to Greensboro, when he was hit in that area on his most recent plate appearance. He has not been placed on the injured list, and the hope is that he returns before the minimum 7-day stay would even come into play.
Elsewhere in the system, Charlotte was shut out 2-0 by Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a game that went seven innings because of rain. Rikuu Nishida went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts, while Ryan Galanie finished 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base.
Edgar Quero went 0-for-3 with a strikeout, and Junior Pérez walked, struck out twice and stole a base. Noah Schultz worked 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and no runs with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts, throwing 33 of 49 pitches for strikes.
Birmingham rolled past Chattanooga 8-0 behind a strong day from Caleb Bonemer, who went 1-for-4 with a homer, a walk and two strikeouts. Anthony DePino was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, Colby Shelton went 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout, and Ryan Burrowes was 1-for-4 with a strikeout.
On the mound, Shane Murphy threw 7 scoreless innings, giving up 4 hits with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts on 60 of 88 pitches for strikes. Pierce George added a scoreless inning, allowing 1 hit with 3 strikeouts.
Greenville outlasted Winston-Salem 8-7 in a wild one. Javier Mogollón drew two walks, hit a sacrifice fly, was hit by a pitch, struck out once and stole three bases.
Kyle Lodise doubled, walked, hit a sacrifice fly, struck out twice and stole a base. George Wolkow went 0-for-4 with a hit by pitch and a strikeout, Jeral Perez was 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout, and Nick McLain went 2-for-4 with a double.
Kannapolis picked up a 9-5 win over Fredericksburg, with Jaden Fauske going 2-for-4 with a strikeout. Matthew Boughton was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a hit by pitch, while Grayson Fitzwater went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts.
Alexander Albertus finished 1-for-3 with two walks. Grant Cleavinger threw 1 scoreless inning, allowing no hits and no walks with 2 strikeouts, getting 7 of his 11 pitches for strikes.

White Sox Fans Have A New Rate Field Worry In Bridgeport
A new development near Rate Field is adding another layer of uncertainty for White Sox fans in Bridgeport. Amtrak plans to build a 24/7 industrial maintenance facility in the neighborhood, with work expected to affect nearby residents and some of the parking lots surrounding the ballpark beginning in 2027. The project has already received a federal categorical exclusion, meaning it can move ahead without a full environmental assessment, which only sharpened attention at a recent public meeting.
For a fan base already living with questions about the long-term future of the ballpark area, the location and timing of the project have become part of a broader conversation about what comes next in Bridgeport. Some residents raised concerns about the impact on the neighborhood and linked the plan to possible future White Sox stadium development and ownership changes involving Justin Ishbia, though those ownership details remain speculative for now. Jonathan Cannons White Sox Future Looks Bleaker Than Fans Expected
Jonathan Cannons first two seasons with the White Sox have followed a far bumpier path than the club probably envisioned when he reached the majors in 2024. He got a real look right away, making 21 starts and covering 124.1 innings, but the progress did not carry over into 2025, when his performance slipped and his role began to shrink as the season went along.
By August, Cannon was back in Triple-A, and his big league chances have been scarce since then, with only a few appearances in Chicago and most of them coming out of the bullpen. He is still on the roster-building radar, but heading into 2026, his path back to a rotation spot looks far less straightforward than fans might have expected after his debut. [Read more 🡒]
Luis Robert Jr. Returns As White Sox Fans Revisit A Painful Trade
Luis Robert Jr. is set to walk back into Guaranteed Rate Field for the first time since the White Sox sent him to the Mets, a return that figures to stir up plenty of mixed feelings on the South Side. For Chicago fans, it is a chance to revisit one of the more painful decision points of the rebuild, especially with the organization having received Luisangel Acuna in return and watched him settle in as a useful utility piece.
Roberts first season in New York has not gone as hoped, with injuries interrupting his time on the field and his production slipping to career lows. The Mets have also been stuck in an underwhelming stretch of their own, which only adds to the odd backdrop around this return, where both the player and the team involved have reasons to wonder how much better this all might have looked a year ago.
