Oppor's repertoire includes a powerful two-seamer that regularly hits 100 mph and a developing sweeper that complements his lower arm slot. While he's still fine-tuning this pitch, he's optimistic about its potential. "I've been throwing it harder, and it's aligning well with my other pitches," he explained.
His changeup, boasting a 47% miss rate, has become a standout weapon. Oppor attributes its effectiveness to his natural pronation, allowing for excellent velocity separation and location control. "Ever since I got here, my changeup has been great," he said, highlighting its role in his success.
Oppor’s delivery is unique, characterized by a closed front foot landing and a crossfire finish, which he’s embraced as part of his natural style. Despite its unconventional nature, this delivery, combined with his fastball’s impressive arm-side run, has proven effective.
