Billy Carlson was back on the field Friday, and the White Sox first-round pick from the 2025 MLB draft wasted no time getting into game action with the ACL White Sox. Carlson played shortstop in his return from a non-displaced fracture in the tip of his left thumb and went 0-for-3. Chicago had originally projected a four- to six-week recovery when the injury was announced on May 26, and Carlson returned in seven.
The timing lined up neatly with another first-round headline for the organization, as the White Sox also drafted Roch Cholowsky in the first round of the 2026 MLB draft on the same day.
Across the rest of the farm, Nashville beat Charlotte 4-2. Ryan Galanie led the offense with a 3-for-5 night that included a double and a strikeout.
Edgar Quero finished 1-for-5 with two strikeouts. On the mound, Mason Adams allowed 3 runs, 3 earned, on 6 hits over 4.1 innings, walking 4 and striking out 5 while throwing 53 of 80 pitches for strikes.
Wikelman González followed with 2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, with 1 walk and no strikeouts on 20 of 34 pitches for strikes.
Columbus edged Birmingham 3-2, despite Boston Smith’s big night. Smith homered, singled and struck out twice, and the homer came off the batter’s eye in center.
Anthony DePino went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, Colby Shelton was 0-for-3 with a strikeout, and Samuel Zavala went 1-for-3 with a strikeout. Gabe Davis worked 4 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts, throwing 41 of 61 pitches for strikes.
Asheville topped Winston-Salem 4-2. Tim Elko doubled and struck out three times, Jeral Perez went 1-for-3 with a walk, and George Wolkow finished 1-for-4 with a strikeout. Seth Keener worked 1 inning, allowing 1 hit and 1 earned run with 1 walk and no strikeouts, needing 12 of 18 pitches for strikes.
Delmarva shut out Kannapolis 3-0. Jaden Fauske went 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout, Matthew Boughton was 1-for-4 with a double and two strikeouts, Nick McLain finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout, Alexander Albertus went 0-for-3 with a strikeout, and Christian Gonzalez was 1-for-3 with a strikeout.
In the ACL, the Guardians beat the White Sox 7-0 in seven innings. Yordani Soto went 1-for-3 with a double and a strikeout, Jose Mendoza was 1-for-3 with a double, and Landon Hodge went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. Carlson’s rehab assignment began there with his 0-for-3 line.
The DSL White Sox rolled past DSL CLE Mendoza 18-5 in seven innings. Ronald Cardozo drove in seven runs while going 3-for-4 with two homers, a double and a walk. Fernando Graterol was 2-for-3 with a homer and two walks, Sebastian Romero walked twice, struck out twice and was plunked once, Felix Lebron went 0-for-3 with a walk, hit by pitch and strikeout, Samuel Luis was 0-for-3 with a hit by pitch, and Emmanuel Rodriguez worked 1 inning, allowing 1 hit and 1 run, unearned, with 2 strikeouts.

White Sox Just Made A Bold Bet With Recent MLB Talent
The White Sox added another layer to their recent roster-and-rebuild juggling act by turning a package of young talent into a premium draft asset. Chicago landed the 34th overall pick in the upcoming MLB draft, a Competitive Balance Round A selection, while also bringing in left-handed pitching prospect Jaden Woods in a deal that sent Jacob Gonzalez and left-handed reliever Brandon Eisert to Pittsburgh.
For a club still sorting out its long-term core, the move is notable because it gives the front office more draft capital while also clearing room for another organization to plug in a recent major league debutant. Gonzalez had just reached the big leagues with Chicago, but the White Sox clearly viewed the chance to add a high-end pick as worth the cost, especially with the draft now offering another path to reshape the system. Tristan Peters Delivers A Rare White Sox Milestone Fans Wont Forget
Tristan Peters gave Rate Field a moment worth filing away for years, turning a routine game against the Athletics into one of the rarest nights in White Sox history. The center fielder completed the cycle with a triple in the seventh inning, a fitting final piece to a performance that put him in a very small club and added another memorable chapter to a season in which he has emerged as a real bright spot for Chicago.
For a team still sorting through its long-term identity, Peters has been one of the more encouraging developments since arriving from Tampa Bay in a cash deal last December. He has been productive across the board and, with this latest milestone, has given White Sox fans something beyond the usual nightly box score to remember, even if the bigger question around his place in the lineup now feels a little more interesting than it did a few weeks ago. White Sox Just Added Serious Draft Firepower With A Surprising Trade
The White Sox added another layer to their draft haul by landing the 34th pick in Saturdays draft, along with the associated slot value, in a trade with Pittsburgh. That move gives Chicago three of the first 41 selections and the largest bonus pool for the 2026 draft, a clear sign the front office is leaning hard into adding young talent and maximizing its flexibility at the top of the board.
Chicago also brought in Triple-A left-hander Jaden Woods, giving the deal a little more than just draft capital. The Pirates, meanwhile, got players they expect to help their major league roster quickly, which is the kind of return that usually makes a trade feel balanced in the moment, even if the long-term payoff is still very much to be determined.
