Horace Grant Is Giving Bulls Fans A Tribute Theyll Want To See

Bulls legend Horace Grant launches a heartfelt new TV series bringing NBA legends together to share untold stories and cherished memories while supporting a noble cause.

Chicago Bulls legend Horace Grant is bringing his new project “Legends in Session” to the Chicago Sports Network on October 24, and the first wave of guests reads like a highlight reel of NBA history.

Produced by Urban Grind TV in Chicago, the series pairs Grant with legends from the game for conversations about their lives and careers, while also using the platform to support charity. Grant said the show has taken on a meaning he didn’t exactly envision when it was first announced almost a year ago, but one he’s grateful to see come together.

The opening three episodes alone feature Charles Oakley, Phil Jackson, and Toni Kukoc. Grant faced all three during his Bulls run from 1987 to 1994, and he said the interviews uncovered things he hadn’t known before. One moment with Jackson stood out in particular.

“Phil said a whole bunch of things that I didn’t know happened with the Bulls in terms of his philosophy on a lot of things,” Grant said. “I said something like, ‘ You are the Zen master. He corrected me; he was like, ‘Horace, I’m not the Zen master because Zen could never be mastered.'”

The guest list stretches well beyond that first trio. Grant also has his brother Harvey, Vernon Maxwell, Robert Horry, Bill Cartwright, Kendall Gill, World Series champion and MVP Jose Rijo, and 1983 American League Rookie of the Year Ron Kittle on the docket.

For Grant, though, the series is about more than nostalgia. It’s about making sure greats are appreciated while they’re still here to hear it.

That feeling hit home with Stacey King, Grant’s former teammate and longtime friend, who passed away in June. King appears in an episode, and Grant said the moment carried extra weight because of the bond they shared.

“Remember my brother, it just makes it a lot more special in terms of the laughter that we had,” Grant said. “Him being the comedian. Being the voice of the Bulls for so many years, giving me the hot sauce, made everything so much more unique.”

Grant said that experience sharpened the mission behind the series.

“My objective is to give my former teammates and opponents their flowers now,” Grant said. “I was so very fortunate to give my late great friend Stacey King his flowers.”

He also said he’d like to expand the guest list even further, with Scottie Pippen, Shaquille O'Neal, Penny Hardaway, and Gary Payton among the names he wants to bring on. Grant played with all four during stops with the Bulls, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, and Seattle SuperSonics. He’d also like to keep the show rooted in Chicago by bringing in local standouts such as Tim Hardaway, Marcus Liberty, Eddie Johnson, and Derrick Rose.

Grant expects the series to catch fire, and he wants it to do so for the right reasons.

Caleb Wilson Is Forcing A Bulls Question Tiago Splitter Can't Ignore

The Bulls closed their preseason with a 133-116 win over Minnesota, and Caleb Wilson gave them one more reminder that his rise is becoming part of the conversation in Chicago. The rookie was active from the start, scoring efficiently, helping on the glass and making plays as a passer and defender in a game that showcased why the organization is already taking a long look at what he can become.

Tiago Splitter praised Wilsons development afterward and made clear how central the young forward is to the teams future, but he also flagged the bigger challenge sitting ahead of this group. Wilson can supply energy and production in a hurry, yet the Bulls still have to build an offense that doesnt lean too heavily on one newcomer, even one with star potential. [Read more 🡒]

Bulls Still Waiting On A Frontcourt Piece They Really Need

The Bulls are still waiting for Nic Claxton to join the frontcourt group they envisioned when they brought him in, and the hold-up has stretched into preseason. Claxton has been out because of a hamstring injury, leaving Jalen Smith to handle the big-man minutes in his place while Chicago keeps piecing together its interior rotation.

There is at least some movement on the injury front elsewhere, with Zach Collins, Issac Okoro and Tobe Awaka all reportedly improving. The broader outlook around those sidelined players looks better, which only sharpens the focus on Claxton as the one big man the Bulls are still missing most, and the one whose return remains the most important unresolved piece. Derrick Rose Just Gave Bulls Fans A Powerful Reminder

The Bulls had more than a preseason game to think about at the United Center, where Derrick Rose made an appearance and reminded everyone how much he still means to this franchise. The former MVP and Chicago native has stayed connected to the organization, and his presence around the team carried the kind of weight that only comes from years of shared history and a city that never really stopped claiming him as one of its own.

Rose also spent time around training and crossed paths with Caleb Wilson and Dailyn Swain, another sign that his bond with the Bulls is still active, not just sentimental. With Chicago now turning its attention toward the regular season opener against the Toronto Raptors on October 21, moments like this add a little extra texture to camp, especially when they come from a player whose connection to the team still resonates this strongly.
