Now, as Wright heads into free agency, his stock is on the rise. In a recent interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio, he discussed the balance between financial security and finding the right team fit.
"I think it’s a little bit of both," Wright shared. "Of course, financial stability is important, but I also want to compete at a high level.
I thrive in an aggressive style of play, like we had in Chicago. I’d love to return, but the future is uncertain."
While discussions with the Bears haven't yet delved into contract specifics, Wright anticipates those talks will advance soon, with his agent scheduled to meet with the team next week. Should the Bears not secure him before free agency, Wright is expected to attract significant interest from teams eager to bolster their defensive backfield.
