Caleb Williams ended up drawing just as much attention for the pose as for the uniform.
The Chicago Bears quarterback was among the players chosen to model the team’s new “Rivalries” alternate look, a Nike collaboration that leans heavily on orange and marks a sharp break from the Bears’ usual navy. Chicago is set to wear the uniform on Christmas Day in its Week 16 home game against the Packers.
Williams, though, became the image everybody talked about. In the photo making the rounds, he’s seated in a chair with one leg propped up and a football in hand. That led to one post calling it, “This is an insane stance for a uniform launch,” and the replies came fast.
“They asked the zestiest dude in the league to model it. Of course it’s zesty,” one fan wrote.
“70s r&b album cover a- pose,” another added.
“Dude is not helping his case at all..what is this pose for a football jersey?! 😆,” a third said.
“So zesty 💅🏽,” another fan chimed in.
The online reaction followed a familiar pattern around Williams, whose fashion choices and painted fingernails have long made him a target for speculation and jokes from internet trolls. The source notes that Williams has never publicly commented on his sexual orientation.
All of that noise came against the backdrop of a strong second season. Williams put together a major sophomore leap in 2025 after a rocky rookie year, helping the Bears finish 11-6, win the NFC North, and earn the franchise’s first playoff victory in 15 years.
