Odell Beckham Jr.’s brief return to the Giants is ending almost as quickly as it began.
New York is moving on from the veteran wide receiver after just three weeks back with the team, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Beckham didn’t put up any statistics during his stint, and the Giants are making the roster move ahead of Week 4.
“Sources: The Giants are releasing WR Odell Beckham Jr.,” Schultz reports.
The timing comes a day after the Giants traded for J.J. McCarthy and a few days after their Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans. That victory came in the rain, and Beckham was barely involved, playing only six snaps.
Across his three games with the Giants in 2026, Beckham logged 19 snaps and didn’t catch a pass. The reunion was a fun storyline, but on the field, it never turned into much.
There is still a path for Beckham to remain with the organization, though it would most likely be on the practice squad. Braxton Berrios is expected to take Beckham’s roster spot, and the Giants are not likely to cut another wideout to make room for him.
Beckham could also wind up elsewhere if he hits free agency. The Los Angeles Rams are one team that could use help at receiver, and other options could be on the table as well.
For now, though, Schultz’s report appears to close the book on Beckham’s latest Giants chapter. It was a feel-good return, but one that produced little beyond the early-season buzz that came with seeing a franchise icon back in the building.
