The NFL Combine is about to kick off, and the Chicago Bears are gearing up to replicate last year's draft success. With standout picks like Colston Loveland, Luther Bruden, Ozzy Trapilo, and Kyle Monangai, the Bears are looking to strike gold again, especially given their tight cap situation. This offseason, the draft will be crucial for finding new starters.
As the combine begins, Chicago's focus will be on bolstering positions such as edge rusher, safety, cornerback, and defensive tackle. There's a particular prospect that could be a game-changer for them, potentially correcting past missteps.
Bears' Dream Draft Prospect for 2026
Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport has highlighted a dream target for each NFL team, and for the Bears, it's Georgia's defensive tackle Christen Miller.
The Bears are in need of upgrades across the defensive line, and while an edge rusher or linebacker might be tempting at their first pick, Miller could be an excellent choice in the second round. Despite not having standout college stats, Miller brings a unique mix of speed and athleticism, with experience across the defensive front.
After a less-than-stellar 2025 from veteran tackle Grady Jarrett, Miller's addition would be a breath of fresh air. Jarrett's signing last year didn't pan out as hoped, with health issues and underperformance plaguing his season.
Miller recorded 23 tackles, four tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks last season. While not an elite pass rusher, his prowess as a run stopper could greatly benefit a Bears defense that struggled, allowing an average of 134.5 rushing yards per game, ranking 27th in the NFL.
Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen would have a promising talent in Miller to develop over the next couple of years. With Miller projected to go on Day 2, the Bears wouldn't need to spend a first-round pick on him. While Jarrett has become a costly concern, Miller could be the remedy the Bears' defense desperately needs.
