Ball was recently traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Jazz in a three-team deal that also involved the Atlanta Hawks. However, before he could even don a Utah jersey, he found himself back on the open market.
Before this trade, there were whispers of a potential deal between Cleveland and the Charlotte Hornets, though it never came to fruition. Now, fresh rumors are swirling about the Hornets possibly reigniting their interest, which could reunite Lonzo with his brother, LaMelo Ball.
LaVar Ball, on the Big Baller Podcast, shared his enthusiasm about the possibility, saying, “You’re not gonna ever see the best out of them until they’re all together. Until that happens, you’re only gonna get a little glimpse.”
Meanwhile, teams like the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors have been linked to Lonzo in free agency. After a challenging stint with the Cavs, where his performance didn't quite hit the mark, his market value has taken a hit. Lonzo reportedly feels like he's been made a “scapegoat” for recent struggles.
Lonzo’s stock took a significant dive after a torn meniscus in January 2022 kept him off the court for two full seasons. Despite these injury concerns, LaVar Ball remains optimistic, especially about the Hornets capitalizing on the current media landscape. He believes that the Ball brothers playing together would make Charlotte the most watched team in the NBA.
