Jalen Duren’s contract situation has quickly become one of the NBA offseason’s most watched storylines, and the Detroit Pistons are the team stuck at the center of it.

The Lakers would also be a natural name to watch. Los Angeles is often in the market for frontcourt help, and Duren’s rebounding and interior presence would fit what they’re looking for. The challenge, as always, would be finding the financial flexibility to make it happen.
Golden State is another team that could make sense on the court. Duren’s size, rebounding and ability to finish above the rim would give the Warriors a different look, especially if they keep reshaping the roster.

No matter how the money side plays out, one thing appears steady: Duren should still be Cunningham’s favorite pick-and-roll partner next season. Detroit knows he can help it win.
