Coby White Stuns as Hornets Triumph Over Bulls in Debut Showdown

Coby White reflects on his impressive debut with the Charlotte Hornets and adapting to new challenges after leaving the Chicago Bulls.

Coby White's debut with the Charlotte Hornets was a memorable one, as he faced off against his former team, the Chicago Bulls. After being sidelined by a calf injury, White finally hit the court for the Hornets and made an immediate impact.

In just 16 minutes of play, White contributed 10 points and four assists, shooting 4-of-9 from the field and hitting two of his four attempts from beyond the arc. His performance helped propel the Hornets to a commanding 32-point victory, and his post-game demeanor was all smiles.

Reflecting on his debut, White expressed how seamlessly he felt integrated into the Hornets' system. "I felt like I fit right in, even with it being my first time," he shared.

"There were a few hiccups with play calling, but it was a fun experience. I was just focused on impacting the game any way I could."

With the final year of his contract underway, White is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. However, his focus remains firmly on the present and helping the Hornets climb the Eastern Conference standings to end their playoff drought.

White emphasized the importance of leadership and adapting to his new role. "Using my experience to help in terms of leadership is key," he said.

"It's about fitting into a new system while staying true to myself. I’m committed to competing, playing hard, and bringing joy and passion to the game."

Currently averaging 18.3 points and 4.7 assists per game this season, the 26-year-old White is poised to make a significant impact as he continues to adapt and grow with the Hornets.
