Timberwolves
Good news for Timberwolves fans: Anthony Edwards might be back in action soon. After missing six games due to a knee issue, Edwards is set for a workout on Sunday and a shootaround on Monday. All signs point to a return against the Mavericks.
But his teammates are keeping their focus sharp. Mike Conley emphasized, “We can’t relax just because Ant’s coming back.
We need to keep pushing the ball and involving everyone.” Minnesota has found a groove, and they’re determined to maintain it.
There’s another layer to Edwards’ return. He needs to play in the final eight games to hit the 65-game mark, making him eligible for end-of-season awards.
Hawks
The Hawks are on a roll, and so is Coach Quin Snyder. Snyder celebrated his 500th career win as Atlanta secured its 15th victory in 17 games, solidifying their position in the Eastern Conference race.
“It was special,” Snyder reflected. “Coaches get the record, but it’s really about the players. I’ve been fortunate to coach great talent and quality individuals.”
His players echo that sentiment. “Quin’s incredible,” said Jock Landale.
“He’s been instrumental in helping me get up to speed. He’s a fantastic coach to play for.”
With a 42-33 record, Atlanta is firmly in the mix in the East.
Hornets
The Hornets were riding high with five straight wins and 23 out of 29. But a tough fourth quarter against the 76ers changed the narrative.
Coach Charles Lee was candid about the team’s performance. “Our shot-making can’t impact our defense,” Lee said. “We allowed too many back doors and offensive rebounds, especially when it mattered most.”
Charlotte had been thriving with pace and movement, but that faltered late in the game, affecting the outcome.
