UCF’s offensive line picture for 2026 already has a name to watch in Camp Lott, even if his role figures to start small.
Lott arrives as a redshirt freshman after spending his true freshman season in 2025 on the roster and seeing the field once against North Carolina A&T. His path to this point has already included a position change, too. According to his UCF Athletics profile page, he played defensive end during his junior season at Parklane Academy before moving to offensive line for his senior year.
His recruiting route was a little winding as well. Lott originally committed to Air Force on June 15, 2024, but flipped to UCF in late January 2025, according to 247Sports.
At this stage, he does not project as a major snap-eater for the Knights in 2026. But offensive line coach AJ Blazek made it clear after an April 9 practice that Lott is on the staff’s radar.
Blazek referred to him as "that next guy," while discussing the group competing at center. He also said the move would be a "position change" for the redshirt freshman, who was listed as an offensive tackle on 247Sports.
Blazek added that Lott would need to "learn a lot" about the center spot, but said he "has a skill set" and that he is "soaking it up."
That context points to a possible future at center for the McComb, Mississippi native. He is not the obvious answer for significant snaps there right away, with more experienced options ahead of him. Still, if he handles the position well once camp opens, he could work in for a few reps and start building game experience.
For now, Lott looks like depth. Long term, though, this season may be the beginning of something bigger for UCF at center.
