UCF will use Thursday night’s season opener against Bethune-Cookman as more than just a football game. The Knights are set to welcome a sizable group of recruits to Acrisure Bounce House Stadium, with more than a dozen high school prospects expected on hand as the program looks to make an early impression.
Sixteen prospects from Florida were scheduled to attend, and the group spans the 2027, 2028 and 2029 recruiting classes. Most of the visitors are from the Central Florida area, giving UCF a chance to show off its pitch close to home.
The 2027 class includes a pair of headliners: three-star defensive tackle Noah Robinson of Orlando Jones High School and three-star receiver Kaneilius Purdy of Lake Wales High. Also expected are edge rusher Justin Kemp and safety Ky’mani Fils-Amie, both from The First Academy.
UCF already has 13 commitments in its 2027 class, with Robinson and Purdy among the leaders. That group is ranked 80th nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings and sits last in the Big 12.
The Knights do not have any commitments yet for the 2028 or 2029 classes, so Thursday gives them a chance to start building there too.
Ten prospects from the 2028 class were expected to be in attendance, including receivers Axzavious Hawkins of Eau Gallie, Lamar Garrison of East Ridge and Jaden Parks of Mainland; offensive guard Braden Olsen of Spruce Creek; defensive tackle Jordan McCrimon of Osceola; edge rusher Cornelius Laney of Ocoee; linebacker Avery Weigert of Chamberlain; and safeties Alex McCollough of Armwood, Jamarion Davis of Gadsen County and Octavius Lewis of Edgewater.
Two more prospects, Lake Wales quarterback Kingston Loydd and Melbourne Senior High running back Tyrese Jefferson, are expected from the 2029 class.
Thursday’s game will also double as a celebration for UCF’s 2026 women’s flag football team. The Knights, who won the inaugural Fiesta Bowl Flag Football Classic on the Arizona State campus in April, are scheduled to be honored during the game.
That tournament was the first national collegiate flag football event to bring together NCAA Division I universities from across the country. UCF went 6-0 and beat Florida 19-7 in the title game. Kayla Ludwig earned Offensive MVP honors, while Eliana Higbie-Long was named Defensive MVP.
UCF’s flag football program has been in place since 1979.
