The Denver Broncos are making a strategic move by bringing former NFL wide receiver Willie Snead on board as an offensive quality control coach. This decision, reported by Aaron Wilson of KPRC, adds a seasoned NFL veteran to their coaching staff.
Snead, now 33, began his NFL journey in 2014 as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns. Though his time in Cleveland was short-lived, he quickly found a spot on the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad during his rookie year. His career took a significant turn when he joined the New Orleans Saints later that season, where he spent three productive years.
In 2018, Snead signed a notable two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, valued at up to $10.4 million. He continued to showcase his skills, earning a one-year, $6 million extension for the 2020 season.
After testing the free agency waters, Snead inked a one-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, though his time there was brief. He had a short stint with the Panthers again before moving to the San Francisco 49ers.
In 2024, Snead signed with the Miami Dolphins, but his season was cut short by an injury that led to his placement on injured reserve and subsequent release.
Over his nine-season career, Snead played in 103 games, amassing 281 receptions for 3,445 yards and 16 touchdowns. His transition to coaching with the Broncos marks a new chapter, where his extensive on-field experience will undoubtedly provide valuable insights and mentorship to the team's offensive unit.
